MARCH 5, 12:14 EST TOPEKA, Kan. -- Members of the Kansas Army National Guard need commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) software to help them maintain and rebuild the gas turbine engines on M1 main battle tanks.
The software, which is for the Kansas National Guard's Advanced Turbine Engine Army Maintenance (ATEAM) program office in Topeka, Kan., is to help streamline order processing, data collection, shipping, and related jobs.
This is a market-research effort to establish a list of potential vendors, and is not a request for proposals, ATEAM officials say.
The ATEAM rebuilds the AGT 1500 engines to specific standards. These engines then go back into M1 tanks so the tank can perform again. Members of the ATEAM are currently using software that does not allow everyone at the facility to access their system.
ATEAM leaders want to identify commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) client software that personnel may install at their workstations. This software must access a central database, and enable personnel to generate cost analysis and other standard reports.
The database must be able to hold:
-- order processing such as shop routings and shop floor control; -- material control such as purchasing and shop material usage; -- labor hours reporting; -- data collection for quality control; -- receiving and shipping data; -- accounting information such as invoice processing and accounts payable; -- payroll accounting; and -- bar-coding capabilities.
Users must be able to access to the entire system through several different computer workstations, definable to individual users.
Those interested should respond by March 20. Those responding should submit detailed product information, general information about their companies, company address, point of contact telephone number and e-mail address, and GSA schedule number. Refer to solicitation number DAHA14XXXXXXX.
Responders also should provide three to five examples of similar applications of their software within the last five years, and include:
-- name and address of client using application software; -- a point of contact name, telephone number, and e-mail address; and -- the nature of the business using the software.
Submit information to Tom Coleman, contracting officer, USPFO for Kansas, by e-mail at tom.coleman@ks.ngb.army.mil, or by post to 2737 S. Kansas Ave., Topeka, Kan. 66611-1170.
