BAE Systems uses Avexus software for civil aircraft maintenance

April 19, 1:52 EST
VICTORVILLE, Calif. -- Experts at BAE Systems are using a maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) software solution from Avexus, Inc. in San Diego, to improve efficiency at a new civil aircraft modification, maintenance, and repair facility in Victorville, Calif.

Avexus's Impresa helps aircraft maintenance organizations schedule, plan, and manage aircraft maintenance and modification tasks, Avexus officials say.

"We picked the system to support high-quality, on-time maintenance tailored to the individual customer's needs," said Joe Vreeman, vice president and general manager of BAE Systems, Victorville.

BAE Systems, Victorville, located at the Southern California Logistics Airport in Victorville near Los Angeles, provides a full range of commercial aviation maintenance, refurbishment, modification, and conversion services and is a major North American maintenance hub for commercial passenger aircraft, Avexus officials say.

"Using Impresa translates into rapid deployment, fewer customization needs, quicker return-on-investment, improved cash flow, and greater customer satisfaction," claims Andrew Dumke, Avexus chairman and chief executive officer. "In addition, our OEM agreement with Cognos allows BAE Systems to utilize graphically advanced reporting tools and portals for analyzing business intelligence data that is collected by Impresa. It helps facilitate better business decisions and planning, through added visibility into MRO profitability, cost containment and inventory and manpower management."

Avexus Inc. specializes in maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) software solutions for organizations involved in after-market support of long-life, highly engineered assets, Avexus officials say. The company's flagship product, Impresa, delivers a MRO solution that helps manufacturing and maintenance organizations schedule, plan, and manage the intricate maintenance processes associated with high-value, complex assets. Avexus customers also include Bearing Inspection, Boeing, General Electric, Goodrich, Pemco Aeroplex, TRW, the U.S. Air Force and the U.S. Navy.
