MAY 30, 2002, 12:30 EDT LOS ANGELES -- Universal Detection Technology (UDT), a provider of environmental monitoring technologies, including bio-terrorism detection devices, air monitoring systems, and medical diagnostic equipment, has entered a strategic alliance with Ricciardi Technologies, Inc. (RTI), a developer of systems and software solutions for public and private sector clients.
Under the terms of the agreement, RTI will integrate its SensorView platform technology into UDT's development of a biological and chemical warfare agent detection device. In particular, the SensorView technology will be utilized to facilitate communication between the UDT sensors in its Model 7001.
The agreement further establishes an infrastructure for examining potential integration of other RTI technologies into UDT's Model 7001.
"While its work for the U.S. Military is truly a standout, RTI has an all around exceptional track record in developing innovative and market leading software. RTI's technologies, coupled with its consulting and engineering expertise, make the company an invaluable partner for UDT," says UDT CEO Jacques Tizabi. "We expect this collaboration to be instrumental in driving UDT's development of a real-time detection device."
"As RTI was the software and embedded hardware developer for the Joint Biological Point Detection System (JBPDS), RTI's SensorView product suite is based on five years of proven technology and over 80,000 lines of software," adds RTI COO, David Godso. "SensorView is a standard platform for command, control, monitoring, networking, integration, and management of disparate and distributed sensors. Only by teaming with companies, such as Universal Detection Technology, which have a core competency in sensors and sensing systems, can RTI provide the best of breed system for its customers. The relationship formed by RTI and UDT shows a continued commitment on the part of both companies to seek out the key relationships and industry strengths that are necessary to bring the best of both to market for complete sensor system solutions."
UDT was founded in 1973 and is a leading provider of environmental monitoring technologies, including bio-terrorism detection devices, air monitoring systems, and medical diagnostic equipment. UDT's proprietary technology, together with its R&D expertise, exclusive licenses of third party technologies and devices, and sales distribution networks in North America, Europe and Asia, position the Company to capitalize on growth and value opportunities.
