PEI Electronics Selected for Future Combat Systems Team

HUNTSVILLE, Ala., -- Integrated Defense Technologies, Inc.'s subsidiary, PEI Electronics, Inc, has been selected by the U.S. Army Future Combat Systems (FCS) Lead System Integration Team consisting of The Boeing Company/Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) to participate as a "Best in Industry" team member in the requirements and concept definition for the Army's next generation ground vehicle fleet.

"Hybrid power systems are an essential and enabling technology for future combat vehicles," said Thomas Keenan, IDT President and CEO. "A major emphasis of PEI Electronics as a system integrator of alternatively powered vehicles is developing materiel solutions and products for critical hybrid propulsion technologies including electric, hybrid-electric and distributed electric power requiring leading edge energy and power density attributes."

FCS is a networked system of manned and unmanned ground and airborne weapon systems with superior levels of mobility and reduced logistic needs. FCS will serve as a core building block for the Army's long-term goal to increase responsiveness, combat power, endurance and versatility of the Objective Force. Work on the contract will be performed at Integrated Defense Technologies PEI Electronics facility in Huntsville, AL.
