Cubic Forms Simulation Systems Division

SAN DIEGO & ORLANDO, Fla. November 4, 2003. Cubic Defense Applications (CDA), the defense segment of San Diego-based Cubic Corporation, has formed a new Simulation Systems Division within its Training Systems Business Unit. The move is a result of Cubic's recent acquisition of Orlando, Fla.-based training systems provider, ECC International Corp.

The Simulation Systems Division integrates CDA's pre-acquisition Orlando-based technical operations with those of ECC. Terry Kohl will head the new division as Vice President and General Manager. She was previously ECC's Vice President, Business Development. Bob Collins, former ECC President and CEO, has elected not to remain with the new division.

"Terry Kohl is a proven leader who will drive the tactical success of the division and it's strategic integration with the rest of Cubic," said Cubic Defense Applications president and CEO Gerry Dinkel. "Bob Collins did a great job leading ECC over the past year and through the acquisition process. He was a pleasure to work with and we wish him great success."

Simulation Systems will be headquartered in the existing ECC Orlando facility and Cubic will maintain its separate office in Research Park for overall Central Florida business development, as well as general management of key U.S. Marine Corps, Navy and Army programs of CDA's Mission Support Business Unit (MSBU).

Other key personnel changes associated with formation of the new division include:

Steve Bowling is named Vice President, Programs and Technical Operations for the new division.
Gary Washam joins Simulation Systems as Director of Advanced Programs. Washam was formerly the head of Cubic's Orlando business development office. He is succeeded by Mark Saturno, who recently joined Cubic in Orlando.

The Cubic Defense Applications group provides realistic combat training systems for military forces as well as simulation, force modernization, educational, operations and maintenance and manufacturing services. The group also supplies products and systems for Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) applications, search and rescue avionics, and radio communications for military and civil markets. Cubic Corporation's other major segment, Cubic Transportation Systems, designs and manufactures automatic fare collection systems for public mass transit, including rail and buses, throughout the world.
