WEST PALM BEACH, Fla., June 24, 2004. Proxity Digital Networks, Inc. and Techsphere Systems International, Inc. announce that the SA-60 low altitude surveillance airship has taken flight as planned. All systems are operable.
The SA-60 lifted off with a two-man crew at 7:10 AM from Captain Walter Francis Duke Regional Airport in Hollywood, St. Mary's County, Md. and flew until 8:20 AM at 1500 feet in a two-three mile radius.
The U.S. Navy has recently contracted with Cyber Aerospace to test the SA-60. Cyber Aerospace is conducting contractor demo flights to determine performance characteristics for possible future military applications. Sierra Nevada Corporation has entered a contractual agreement to provide technology integration for government end users. Manufactured by Techsphere Systems International, Cyber Aerospace holds the exclusive global government marketing rights to the SA-60 and also Techsphere's advanced airship designs.
Cyber Aerospace will hold a press conference with more demonstration flights of the airship 10:00 AM Monday June 28th at the Captain Walter Francis Duke Regional Airport. If inclement weather prevails, the press conference will be held on Tuesday June 29th.
Captain Walter Francis Duke Regional Airport is located outside Washington, D.C. in Hollywood, St. Mary's County Md.; 53 miles southeast of Washington, D.C., 70 miles south of Annapolis, and 85 miles south of Baltimore.
