NEW YORK, N.Y., July 6, 2004. L-3 Communications announced today that its Government Services, Inc. business unit (L-3 GSI) has been awarded a task order under the General Services Administration (GSA) Millennia Lite contract to provide Mission Support Services and Information Technology Support for the U.S. Visitor and Immigration Status Indicator Technology (U.S. VISIT) program for the Department of Homeland Security.
When fully funded through all option years this three-year task order has a contract ceiling of approximately $107.9 million.
An important Homeland Security initiative, the U.S. VISIT program is designed to ensure that visitors to the U.S. depart the country in compliance with their immigration admission status. L-3 GSI will provide technical support for the biometric workstations that will be used to ensure the identity of non-immigrant visa holders as they leave the country. L-3 GSI will provide this support at all U.S. airports and seaports with international departures.
