SI International wins purchase agreement from Air Force Space and Missile Systems Center

RESTON, Va., July 8, 2004. SI International, Inc., an information technology and network solutions (IT) company, today announced that it has been awarded a five-year blanket purchase agreement (BPA) to provide technical support and services for the Space and Missile Systems Center (SMC) Space Programs.

SMC, a subordinate unit of Air Force Space Command, is responsible for research, design, development, and acquisition of space launch, command and control, and satellite items.

The multiple-award contract enables SI International to compete for tasks with a ceiling value of $500 million over one base year and four option years. That allows the company to expand its support for SMC defense transformation and space systems modernization.

Tasks to be performed by SI International under this contract include: systems engineering and integration, systems security engineering, software engineering, integrated logistics support, and systems protection training support.

The agreement supports SMC locations primarily at Los Angeles, Calif.; Lompoc, Calif.; Colorado Springs, Colo.; Albuquerque, N.M.; Patrick AFB, Fla.; Cape Canaveral, Fla.; Sunnyvale, Calif.; and the Washington, D.C. area.

SI International's recent activities with SMC include support for Military Satellite Communications (MILSATCOM), Global Positioning System (GPS), and the Advanced Extremely High Frequency System (AEHF).

"The type of support required under the Space and Missile Systems Center contract is a perfect match with SI International's space systems technical expertise," said Ray Oleson, chairman and CEO of SI International. "It's a great addition to our GSA contract vehicles and provides new opportunities with Air Force Space Command."
