Defence IQ's Fourth Annual conference, Electronic Warfare, takes place on 28th & 29th September 2004 at The Café Royal in London.
Building on the success of previous years, the 2004 event will deliver the latest developments across a range of EW issues. Chaired by Wing Commander Chris Pitt, SO1 EW & TD at RAF's HQ Strike Command, the overriding theme of the conference will be EW in the Future Joint Battlespace.
Keynote speakers will include Lieutenant General Richard Reynolds, Vice Commander Air Force Materiel Command, US Air Force and Wing Commander John Clifford, EW Staff Officer at the UK MoD's Directorate of Joint Capabilities. Together with a panel of internationally renowned experts, they will look at key elements of joint EW requirements and development.
Another aspect to be covered is EW training, with expert briefings from Squadron Leader Rick Pearce, SO2 EW Training at RAF High Wycombe and Commander Jay Hudson, Operations Officer for NATO's Multi-Service Electronic Warfare Support Group (MEWSG). They will outline major EW training requirements and look at how crucial training assets can best be utilized.
Several important platforms and systems will also be detailed. Amongst others, there will be presentations on the EA-18G (Commander Mark Darrah, EA-18G Deputy Programme Manger, NAVAIR, US Navy), Gripen (Captain Lars Siggelin, 211 Squadron, Swedish Air Force) and Chinook (Squadron Leader Penny Sykes, Flight Commander Chinook/SAR, Rotary Wing Operational Evaluation and Training Unit, RAF Benson).
With EW no longer confined to the battlespace, there has been growing interest in electronic protection for civil aircraft. In response, Dr. Bart Elias of the US Congressional Research Service and Mr. Jim Tuttle of the US Department of Homeland Security will look at the threat posed by MANPADS to civilian airliners and proposed solutions for ensuring safer skies.
In addition to the main conference, an interactive Focus Day will take place on 27th September and will concentrate specifically on Countermeasure Effectiveness Evaluation and Testing.
This conference will be attended by key military decision makers and leading industry players involved in the development of EW requirements, systems and technologies. Tailored networking opportunities will include a drinks reception and Conference Dinner on 28th September.
Register by 28th June and save up to £200 on your place. Special rates for team of 3 or more and for serving military officers.
