ST. LOUIS, Mo., Aug. 27, 2004. Engineered Support Systems, Inc.'s wholly-owned subsidiary Technical and Management Services Corporation (TAMSCO), has been awarded a 5-year Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract valued at up to $30 million for various satellite communications, spares, data and services by the U.S. Army Security Assistance Management Directorate (SAMD), according to Gerald A. Potthoff, Vice Chairman, CEO and President.
Under the contract, TAMSCO will provide a wide range of telecommunications support to SAMD in all types of telecommunication mediums that include voice, data, graphics and video. This support may encompass research and development, system design and engineering, manufacture, procurement, integration and installation or systems, test and evaluation, technical documentation, program management, configuration management, operations and maintenance, help desk support, training, and logistics support including repair and return.
The contract will allow SAMD to fulfill many directed source requirements from foreign countries under the Foreign Military Sales program. It is expected that TAMSCO's Multi-Media Communications System (MMCS) will be an important and integral product offering under this contract. MMCS is an adaptable, portable, expandable modular communication system that enables users to send and receive secure and non-secure voice, data, graphics and video to and from anywhere in the world. It is comprised of state-of-the-art, commercial-off-the-shelf electronics and uses a modular design that can be easily reconfigured to accommodate changing requirements by adding additional modules.
