Coast Guard orders wireless cameras for boarding teams

BALTIMORE, Md., 28 December 2004. View Systems, Inc. today announced an additional order of Visual First Responders from G.P.C., a joint venture procurer of equipment and technology for the U.S. Coast Guard.

The VFR is a wireless, live, first responder video system, now being enhanced for more powerful low-light infrared and heat sensing through closed doors and walls. Future applications could include fire fighting and collapsed structure search and rescue.

The Visual First Responder will be used by the Coast Guard's Strike Force Teams who are stationed around the country.

The Coast Guard is one of the nation's five armed services that the Department of Homeland Security's web site regards as the nation's "maritime first responder."

"We are very excited to have the Coast Guard increase their initial order," stated CEO Gunther Than. "We are hopeful the Coast Guard will determine the VFR is mandatory for all units and boarding vessels. With over 150 ships, the VFR can be used to record every boarding allowing the field commander to see exactly what the on-board personnel see to
ensure a thorough and comprehensive search."

View Systems, Inc. provides a broad range of products to law enforcement, military, government agencies, educational facilities, hotels, event and sport venues, and commercial businesses. View Systems has an extensive network of distributors, licensees and strategic alliance affiliates.
