Boeing to continue work on tactical electric laser weapons

CANOGA PARK, Calif., 31 Aug. 2005. The Boeing Co. in Canoga Park, Calif., won a $200,000 increment Aug. 23 as part of a $5.9 million contract for research into mobile electric laser technology.

The contract increment was announced on 30 Aug. Work will be in Albuquerque, N.M., and will be finished by June 2009. Awarding the contract is the U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command at Redstone Arsenal, Ala.
