Raytheon selects Agilent to build component test platform

Engineers at Raytheon Co. in Tucson, Ariz., sought a flexible system capable of not only the functional and diagnostic testing of components within missile guidance systems, but also of expanding to accommodate future requirements and test strategies.

They found such a solution at Agilent Technologies Inc. in Santa Clara, Calif. Raytheon awarded a $12.6 million contract to Agilent to deliver a next-generation automated manufacturing test platform that can provide benefits in cycle time, test equipment utilization, and labor.

Raytheon will replace 17 stand-alone test systems with seven units that are capable of automated testing, says a company representative.

More information about Agilent Technologies and Raytheon Co. is available online at www.agilent.com and www.raytheon.com, respectively.
