AGS to provide satellite-based connections, networks, and applications under SATCOM-II program

PRINCETON, N.J., 31 May 2007. Americom Government Services Inc. (AGS), a wholly-owned subsidiary of SES Americom, has been selected by the General Services Administration (GSA) to offer satellite-based connections, networks, and applications to federal agencies under the SATCOM-II program.

AGS qualified to deliver domestic, regional, and global bandwidth and mission-critical solutions under the umbrella of the five-year $750 million indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract.

GSA's SATCOM-II program enables U.S. federal civilian and defense agencies to procure a range of satellite solutions. Federal agencies can arrange for bandwidth and connectivity by using the SES Americom fleet of 15 spacecraft, plus have access to the other 21 satellites in the SES global fleet.

Agencies also can take advantage of AGS's expertise in IP-based solutions and platforms for distance learning, telemedicine, continuity of operations, and streaming video.
