ARLINGTON, Texas, 27 Feb. 2008. L-3 Communications won a contract to design and build a simulated Bell 412 helicopter cockpit,A> which will be delivered to Aegis Technologies Group Inc. in 2008.
"When the cockpit is integrated with motion, visual, and operating systems, the end product will result in a superior training device that will provide excellent pilot training for this highly capable commercial helicopter," says Greg Campbell, general manager of L-3 Link Simulation and Training division's AMI Instruments (AMI) organization.
AMI will supply a fully populated hardware cockpit system, including power and signal controls. Production of high precision assemblies and integration of complex flight and engine controls with other equipment will enable AMI to produce an accurate replica of the Bell 412 cockpit.
