Cinch introduces rugged, high-temperature connectors for military and industrial applications

LOMBARD, Ill., 31 May 2008. Cinch Connectors Inc. is introducing a Dura-Con Micro-D connector that operates in temperatures from –40 to 175 degrees Celsius in rugged military connector and high-end industrial applications, such as down-hole directional drilling.

The connector is made from high-temperature insulator and twist-pin design with seven points of contact to operate in shock and vibration. These interconnects can handle more than 50 G's of shock (Mil-Std 1344, Method 2004, Condition E) and 20 G's of vibration (Mil-Std 1344, Method 2005, Condition IV).

Cinch's plug insulators are available in tooled sizes in 9-15-25-50-100-120 positions to provide increased electrical protection between contact cavities, preventing any potential shorts in exposed wire or voids, which may occur during extreme temperature fluctuations.
