RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif., 9 Dec. 2008. Emrise Corp., manufacturer of defense and aerospace electronic devices and communications equipment, won $2 million in new orders for radio-frequency (RF) devices for remote-controlled improvised explosive device (RCIED) jamming systems designed to prevent the detonation of improvised explosive devices (IEDs). Often called roadside bombs, IEDs wound or kill thousands of people in military conflicts around the world.
These new orders, which follow $2 million in similar orders received in mid-September, are expected to begin shipping immediately with deliveries scheduled to be completed in the first quarter of 2009.
The orders were received by the company's Advanced Control Components (ACC) subsidiary, which develops and supplies a wide variety of electronic RF and microwave devices, including RF devices, to support RCIED jamming devices used by the U.S. military. Other EMRISE subsidiaries also supply products to the European market for RF jamming systems, predominantly for aircraft programs.
