MEN Micro offers reflective memory PMC module for data security and memory capacity

MEN Micro Inc. in Ambler, Pa., is introducing the P512 reflective memory PCI mezzanine card (PMC) that provides real-time redundant military data storage across several computers in a networked battlefield system. The P512 is for mission-critical and data-intensive aerospace electronics and medical applications such as data acquisition, test and measurement, and machine automation. The 32-bit/33 MHz P512 offers data security and expanded memory capacity, since memory elements can be read from and written to different processors simultaneously and shared among PCs providing a redundant memory architecture. Each P512 module offers 32 megabytes soldered, FPGA-controlled DDR2 SDRAM and an LVDS channel with a connection speed of 230 MHz and 86 megabytes per second. The PMC supports multi-mode transmission as far as six feet, so it can be integrated into a mesh connecting all modules of the network to each other. For this, each system CPU needs a PMC module for the connection to the other computers (i.e. for two SBCs–one PMC module per SBC, three SBCs–two PMC modules per SBC, etc.). The P512 operates from -40 to 85 degrees Celsius with qualified components as is suitable for any PMC-compliant host carrier board in any type of bus system (i.e. CPCI, VME or on any stand-alone SBC). Appropriate PMC carrier cards in 3U, 6U and other formats are available from MEN Micro and other manufacturers. For more information contact MEN Micro online at www.menmicro.com.
