Amphenol offers rugged connector for defense, aerospace, and oil exploration

Amphenol Industrial in Sidney, N.Y., is offering compact explosion-proof threaded Amphe-EX rugged connectors for applications in Zone 1 rated areas using harsh environment electronics copper coax and military fiber-optic connectors from fiber-optic manufacturers. The Amphe-EX series is for signal control and power generation in military and aerospace applications, as well as oil and gas exploration, wind energy production, and manufacturing processes. The size of the Amphe-EX connectors allows for small gauge wire from 12 AWG to 28 AWG. The connectors are ATEX- and IEC-approved for Zone 1 rated applications. The explosion-proof status of the connectors enhances their ability to perform in harsh conditions. The Amphe-EX is flameproof-compliant to EN 60079-0 and EN 60079-1, is available in five shell sizes, and comes in 50 insert patterns.
