Armored vehicle intercom communications for U.S. Army combat vehicles provided by Cobham

BLACKBURN, England, 18 Oct. 2009. Cobham plc Defence Communications segment in Blackburn, England, is providing its ROVIS (AN/VIC-3) digital vehicular intercom military communications systems for U.S. Army armored vehicles and light tactical vehicles including the Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) combat vehicles.

Cobham won a $40 million vetronics contract from Northrop Grumman Corp. to continue supplying ROVIS armored vehicle intercom systems, which provide enhanced command, control, communication, and situational awareness for the Army M1 Abrams main battle tank and M2 Bradley combat vehicle, as well as for the MRAP vehicle.

"The demand for our digital vehicle intercom systems continues to grow, with more than 120,000 systems fielded with 18 armies around the world," says Allan Cook, the Cobham chief executive officer.
