OpenVPX-based radar signal processing provided by Mercury for major radar system upgrade

CHELMSFORD, Mass., 27 Oct. 2009. Mercury Computer Systems Inc. in Chelmsford, Mass., is providing signal processing based on the company's OpenVPX Ensemble 6000 products to a defense supplier for its global radar upgrade program under terms of a multimillion-dollar order announced Monday.

Mercury's multi-plane architecture use the design principles of the OpenVPX to deliver heterogeneous signal processing capability, while protecting the radar system integrator's investment in radar processing software, Mercury officials say.
