CSC to provide U.S. Department of Homeland Security with IT infrastructure, cyber support

FALLS CHURCH, Va., 28 Oct. 2009. CSC won from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) a task order to provide information technology (IT) infrastructure and cyber support to the National Protection and Programs Directorate's Office of Cyber Security and Communications. The task order was awarded under the Enterprise Acquisition Gateway for Leading Edge Solutions (EAGLE) contract, originally awarded to CSC in July 2006.

Under the terms of the new task order, CSC will provide program management and system integration services to the Office of Cyber Security and Communications. In addition, the company will design and build an expanded watch floor that will integrate national security capabilities from the U.S. Computer Emergency Response Team (US CERT) and the National Coordinating Center of the National Communications System. The watch floor is an environment designed to help decision-makers and operators monitor and respond to homeland security incidents, bringing together a wide range of cyber, and emergency preparedness, and response expertise.

"CSC recognizes cyber warfare as one of the biggest, most immediate and longest term threats to the United States and the global economy," says Aaron Fuller, president of CSC's North American Public Sector Enforcement, Security and Intelligence Group. "Through innovative technology solutions, we will support the Office of Cyber Security and Communications in their mission to enhance the security, resiliency and reliability of our nation's cyber and communications infrastructure."

Teaming with CSC is Imtech Corporation d/b/a Activu Corp., of Denville, N.J.; TWD & Associates Inc., of Arlington, Va.; and Woodtronics, a division of Cerain Corp., of South Williamsport, Pa.

The objective of the DHS EAGLE program is to provide an acquisition vehicle for a range of IT services, technical and management expertise, and solution-related enabling products.
