Lockheed Martin-built rocket supports successful missile defense test
SUNNYVALE, Calif., -- Officials at Boeing in Seattle used a Payload Launch Vehicle (PLV) from Lockheed Martin Space Systems Co. in Denver, Colo., for a recent, successful Missile Defense Agency Integrated Flight Test of the Ground-based Midcourse Defense (GMD) program. The Lockheed Martin PLV launched the kill vehicle in support of an intercept that completely destroyed the incoming target.

Lockheed Martin World Systems to be Acquired by Intelsat
BETHESDA, Md.-- Lockheed Martin Corporation announced that Intelsat, Ltd. will acquire Lockheed Martin's World Systems and COMSAT Digital Teleport, Inc. (CDTI), businesses. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed but will not be material to Lockheed Martin. The acquisition is subject to regulatory approvals and customary closing conditions, and it is anticipated that the transaction will be completed by year's end
