DRS Technologies Acquires Nytech
PARSIPPANY, N.J. -- DRS Technologies has acquired Nytech Integrated Infrared Systems, a privately held company, located in Irvine, Calif. Financial terms were not disclosed. Nytech is a market leader in uncooled thermal imaging systems for portable weapons, head gear, hand-held devices and vehicle-mounted sights.
Quantum Magnetics Wins $2.7M Award From DoD
NEWARK, - - Quantum Magnetics, a subsidiary of InVision Technologies, has received a grant in the amount of $2.7 million from the U.S. Department of Defense (DOD). The grant is part of a project to locate unexploded ordnance, including mortars, rockets, and bombs.
StockerYale Awarded Contract for Custom Lasers
SALEM, N.H. -- StockerYale has been awarded a contract from BAE SYSTEMS to supply custom-designed thermoelectrically cooled lasers for their Advanced Threat Infrared Countermeasures system. StockerYale will initially supply several specialized lasers to the Nashua, N.H.-based Information & Electronic Warfare Systems (IEWS) business unit in the fourth quarter of 2002, with the opportunity for long-term deliveries through 2020

As part of that effort, the Company said it has identified and disciplined a number of employees who violated Company policy by posting private Company information. U.S. Army Selects KVH TACNAV Navigation Solution
MIDDLETOWN, R.I. -- KVH Industries has been awarded a $3.6 million contract by the U.S. Army to equip U.S. Special Forces vehicles with the KVH TACNAV vehicle navigation system. The initial contract is part of a large-quantity, multi-year program for the purchase and fielding of TACNAV systems potentially worth in excess of $10 million over the life of the program.
