Green Hills Software Drives Crew Escape System SANTA BARBARA, CA, December 23, 2003 . Lockheed Martin has selected the Green Hills' INTEGRITY-178B real-time operating system (RTOS) for the vehicle management and control system of the Pad Abort Demonstrator (PAD), an unmanned crew escape demonstration test bed supporting the development of the next manned spacecraft.
SBS Expands Infiniband Product Line Albuquerque, NM, December 22, 2003. SBS Technologies has added two new products to its growing InfiniBand product line. A new 24-port robust low-latency InfiniBand switch contains independent 4x ports supporting bit rates of up to 10 Gb/s in each direction. The second product, a PCI-X host channel adapter (HCA), provides two 4x InfiniBand ports on a low-profile PCI form factor card.

USAF to Launch Upgraded Lockheed Martin GPS Satellite CAPE CANAVERAL AIR FORCE STATION, Fla., December 18, 2003. The U.S. Air Force is preparing to launch an upgraded Global Positioning Systems (GPS) satellite built by Lockheed Martin aboard a Delta II rocket scheduled on December 21, from Cape Canaveral. The satellite, designated GPS IIR-10, features significant performance upgrades, including an advanced antenna panel, which will increase power for GPS receivers.
GD Awarded $2B For Combat Systems Vehicle Design STERLING HEIGHTS, Mich., December 16, 2003 ..General Dynamics Land Systems awarded a $2B contract by Boeing for engineering development and demonstration of a family of manned ground vehicles for the U.S. Army's Future Combat Systems (FCS) program. To date, General Dynamics has been awarded contracts valued at approximately $2.5B for FCS-related work.

GD Robotic Systems Signs $185M Deal For FCS Program WESTMINSTER, Md., December 11, 2003. General Dynamics Robotic Systems and Science Applications International Corp. (SAIC) have signed a $185M contract for development of the Autonomous Navigation System (ANS) for ground vehicles as part of the U.S. Army's Future Combat Systems (FCS) program. SAIC, together with Boeing, comprise the FCS Lead Systems Integrator team. SAIC will administer the ANS multi-year agreement with General Dynamics Robotic Systems.
DRS Unit Achieves High Evaluation for Software PARSIPPANY, N.J., December 10, 2003. DRS Optronics, a unit od DRS Technologies, located in Palm Bay and Melbourne, Florida, has been rated fully compliant at Level 2 with the Software Engineering Institute's (SEI) Capability Maturity Model (CMM). The CMM rating increasingly is being used as a prerequisite and a key evaluation factor for the acquisition of military programs with significant software content.

SunPower Installs Solar Electric Power for NASA EDWARDS, Calif. & SUNNYVALE, Calif., December 8, 2003. NASA and SunPower have completed the installation of a 5kW solar electric power system at the NASA Dryden Flight Research Center, located at Edwards Air Force Base, California. The system is the first to incorporate SunPower's 20% efficient A-300 solar cells. Higher-efficiency cells provide solar power systems with more power per unit area and can provide users with significant cost savings.
