French Military Uses Trimble GPS for Surveying
SUNNYVALE, Calif., October 30, 2003. Trimble has been selected to provide Global Positioning System (GPS) surveying systems for the French Military. Operational forces in support roles from the Services des Programmes d'Observation, de Telecommunication et d'Information (SPOTI), part of the Delegation Generale pour l'Armement (DGA), are using the surveying systems.

BAE Systems Awarded $17.4M Navy Radio Contract
ROCKVILLE, Md., October 29, 2003. BAE Systems has been awarded a one-year $17.4 million contract by the U.S. Navy to provide engineering and technical support services for radio communications systems for multiple classes of ships. The total value of the contract could reach $54.5 million, if all options are exercised over three years. The contracting agency is the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center, Charleston, S.C.

Pentagon Deploys Massive 4,500+ Port Storage Network
BROOMFIELD, Colo, October 28, 2003. McDATA Corporation announced the competitive award and installation of McDATA Director and Fabric switches to support the Pentagon Renovation Program (PENREN). In addition to implementing the PENREN solution, storage network subcontractor NetCentrics is using McDATA's internetworking technology and SANavigator software for increased distance connectivity and centralized storage network management in additional projects at the Pentagon.

TRC Development To Show at Avionics Expo Europe
Rotterdam, The Netherlands, October 27, 2003. TRC Development will be exhibiting at Europe's aviation exhibition and conference: Avionics Expo Europe 2003 in Wiesbaden, Germany. The exhibition and conference takes place on November 20 and 21, 2003. TRC Development will show its product line of flight simulators "The Real Cockpit" and is located at booth B45, Hall 1 of the Rhein Main Hallen in Wiesbaden.

MTC Technologies Acquires Vitronics
DAYTON, Ohio, October 24, 2003. MTC Technologies, Inc., a provider of engineering and technical support services to the Department of Defense, announced that the company and its wholly-owned subsidiary, Modern Technologies Corp. (MTC), have signed a stock purchase agreement to acquire Vitronics Inc., effective October 24, 2003.

Spectrum Signal to Develop Software Defined Radio
Boston, MA , October 22, 2003. Spectrum Signal Processing announced at the MILCOM 2003 show that it will be providing software defined radio platforms to Cubic Defense Applications, a subsidiary of Cubic Corporation. The solutions are based on Spectrum's SDR-3000 family of software reconfigurable platforms, and will be used for software defined radio waveform development.

SBS and TelTron Partner on Telemetry Solutions
Albuquerque, NM, October 21, 2003. SBS Technologies has signed an agreement with TelTron Telemetry Systems Corporation to supply TelTron with embedded components that are an integral part of the company's telemetry systems. In turn, TelTron will allow SBS to purchase and resell its full product line of integrated telemetry systems to its own customers, many of whom are prime contractors or subcontractors for missile and flight test projects as well as other government agencies.

Commercial Optical Processor Debuts
BOSTON, October 15, 2003. Lenslet demonstrated the EnLight optical digital signal processor at the MILCOM exhibition in Boston, MA. The processor is specified to run at a speed of 8 Tera (8,000 Giga) operations per second, one thousand times faster than a conventional DSP.

SatCon Books $900,000 in New Contracts
CAMBRIDGE, Mass., October 14, 2003. The Power Systems unit of SatCon Technology has received new orders over the last several weeks of $900,000 for high power electronics for use in commercial and military aircraft applications and in an environmental processing system. The orders are scheduled to be shipped this fiscal year.

Aircraft Situation Display to be Integrated With WiFli
ARLINGTON, Va., and ORLANDO, Fla., October 8, 2003. Flight Explorer, a provider of Internet-based real-time flight tracking information, reporting and display products has agreed with Navigance Technologies Group of Tulsa, Oklahoma, that Flight Explorer will provide its aircraft situation display as part of Navigance's new "WiFli" solutions package.
