FLIR Systems Receives $6.2M for Maritime Imaging
PORTLAND, Ore., August 21, 2003. FLIR Systems has received a $6.2 million follow-on order from the U.S. Navy's Naval Surface Warfare Command for its MARFLIR maritime thermal imaging system. Deliveries will begin in the fourth quarter of 2003. This is the latest follow-on order under a contract originally awarded in August, 1999. To date, FLIR has delivered over 100 MARFLIR ship-borne thermal imaging systems on U.S. Navy and U.S. Coast Guard patrol craft and other vessels

Nanosys Signs With SAIC to Pursue Nanotechnology
PALO ALTO, Calif., August 20, 2003. Nanosys has signed a Master Marketing and Business Development Agreement with SAIC. Under the agreement, SAIC will fund selected research and development efforts at Nanosys to support the pursuit of nanotechnology enabled systems for opportunities in defense and related government programs. Financial terms were undisclosed. Earlier this year SAIC Venture Capital Corporation participated as an investor in Nanosys's $38M Series C round of financing

DRS to Acquire Integrated Defense Technologies
Parsippany, NJ, August 18, 2003. DRS Technologies and Integrated Defense Technologies. announced that they have signed a definitive agreement, which provides for the merger of IDT with a wholly-owned subsidiary of DRS Technologies. As a result of the merger, DRS will acquire all of the outstanding stock of IDT for $17.50 per share in cash and DRS common stock.

Raytheon Rolls Out Anti-Ship Missile Defense
LOUISVILLE, Ky., August 13, 2003. Raytheon unveiled the first developmental model of the SeaRAM anti-ship missile defense system built at its Louisville plant. It is the latest addition to Raytheon's ship self-defense suite of the Phalanx Block 1B Close-In Weapon System and the Rolling Airframe Missile (RAM) guided missile weapon system.

Markland Researches Cargo Screening and Antenna Radar

Anteon Awarded $49M to Support USAF Laboratory
FAIRFAX, Va., August 12, 2003. Anteon International has been awarded a six-year plus, ID/IQ contract by the U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) located at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. The approximate value of the contract, if all options are exercised, is $49 million. Concurrent with the basic contract award, Anteon received three initial Delivery Orders valued at $4.5 million.
