Lockheed Martin picks Metal Storm for torpedo defense project BRISBANE, Australia, Oct. 18, 2004. Metal Storm Limited today announced that it has entered into an agreement with Lockheed Martin to conduct studies and technical demonstrations in order to establish the feasibility of the Metal Storm Torpedo Defense System over a four-month evaluation period.
Lockheed Martin to build transport ships for Mexican oil rigs BALTIMORE, Md., Oct. 18, 2004. Lockheed Martin was recently awarded a contract valued at more than $25 million to perform detailed design, construction, test and delivery of two Small Waterplane Area Twin Hull (SWATH) crew transport vessels that will provide service to Mexico's national oil company, PEMEX. The Lockheed Martin design is based on its SLICE Small Waterplane Area hull form.
Raytheon wins support contract for U.S. Antarctic program RESTON, Va., Oct. 18, 2004. Raytheon Company has been selected to continue support services for the National Science Foundation's U.S. Antarctic Program. The support contract extension is for $546 million, bringing the total value of the contract to $1.172 billion.

FDGM, Inc., a U.S.-based, wholly owned subsidiary of Fincantieri of Italy, was selected to supply Isotta Fraschini-powered Ship Service Diesel Generators (SSDG) to the Lockheed Martin Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) team.
