Leaders Radstone Embedded Computing in Billerica, Mass., one of the world's leading suppliers of high-performance rugged single-board computers for military and aerospace applications, have rejected three takeover attempts this month alone, yet could be sold to another company in the near future, experts say.
L-1 Identity Solutions to acquire SpecTal, offer government consulting, counterintelligence, counterterrorism, threat vulnerability assessment STAMFORD, Conn., 12 September 2006. L-1 Identity Solutions Inc. has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire privately-held SpecTal LLC, a top provider of consulting services to the United States Intelligence Community. SpecTal provides security and intelligence solutions, specializing in government consulting, training, and technology development.
Northrop Grumman awards SenarioTek avionics contract for F-22 signal routing and conditioning elements SANTA ROSA, Calif., 12 September 2006. SenarioTek LLC, a woman-owned business in Santa Rosa, Calif., has been awarded a contract by the Radio Systems business of Northrop Grumman's Space Technology sector to produce the F-22 Signal Routing and Conditioning Elements (SRCEs).
Agilent licenses 3D electro-magnetic simulation technology from Remcom SANTA CLARA, Calif., and STATE COLLEGE, Penn., 12 September 2006. Agilent Technologies Inc. and privately held Remcom Inc. announced that Agilent has licensed 3D Electro-Magnetic simulation technology from Remcom, a provider of time-domain 3D EM technology. Financial details were not disclosed. Remcom will continue to develop, sell, and support XFDTD, which is based on this technology.
Arotech Simulation and Training Division receives orders for military driver training simulators ANN ARBOR, Mich., 11 September 2006. Arotech Corporation has announced that its Simulation and Training Division, through its FAAC Incorporated subsidiary, has received more than $4.5 million in new orders for driver training simulators since the end of the second quarter. The orders represent 16 simulators sold to 6 different customers.
U.S. Navy places $12.9 million order with Flir Systems for its long-range, multi-sensor imaging systems Portland, Ore., 11 September 2006. Flir Systems Inc. has received an order from the U.S. Navy for long-range, multi-sensor imaging systems valued at $12.9 million. The system, known as High Performance Mobility Flir, is based on the SeaFlir III imaging system and includes a laser rangefinder, a choice of mid- or large-format thermal imager, an image intensified TV, and laser pointer coupled with navigational inputs to provide precise geo-locating capability.
NASA employs Fitel pump laser in Neptec camera system onboard Atlantis shuttle PEACHTREE CITY, Ga., 11 September 2006. Fitel's high-power pump laser technology logged its third NASA space mission with the launch of the Atlantis shuttle. FITEL's 1480nm laser is incorporated in the Neptec camera system used onboard the shuttle to scan critical areas for exterior damage.
Navy orders electro-optic sensor systems for shipboard command and control PORTLAND, Ore., 11 Sept. 2006. FLIR Systems Inc. in Portland, Ore., will supply the U.S. Navy with long-range multisensor imaging systems based on the company's forward-looking infrared (FLIR) sensor technology under terms of a $12.9 million order.
U.S. Army awards $3.6 million contract to Implant Sciences for explosive detection solutions WAKEFIELD, Mass., 8 September 2006. Implant Sciences Corporation, a developer and manufacturer of products for national security, medicine, and industry, has been awarded a $3.6 million contract from the U.S. Army RDECOM CERDEC Night Vision and Electronic Sensors Directorate to fabricate and deliver three systems for detecting explosives in vehicles and other fixed locations.
BAE Systems to purchase National Sensor Systems ROCKVILLE, Md., 8 September 2006. BAE Systems has reached a definitive agreement with National Sensor Systems (NSS) to purchase all of the shares of the company for $8.7 million in cash.
