Headquarters, Department of the Army deploys NetCentrics' CCL solution for network security VIENNA, Va., 20 Dec. 2006. Representatives from NetCentrics Corporation, a technology consulting firm, announced the company's involvement in deploying one of the first enterprise-wide Common Cryptographic Log-in (CCL) using Common Access Cards (CAC) solutions to improve the security of the network at Headquarters, Department of the Army (HQDA).
U.S. Northern Command and NORAD award $31.3 million task order to NCI for command, control, communications, and IT services RESTON, Va., 20 Dec. 2006. NCI Inc., a provider of information technology services and solutions to U.S. federal government agencies, was awarded a task order with a potential total value of $31.3 million to provide the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) and U.S. Northern Command with command, control, communications, and computer system information technology (IT) services. The task order has a base year value of $8.8 million plus three addition option periods.

U.S. Army TACOM contracts DRS Technologies to repair battle-worn M1000 HET trailers PARSIPPANY, N.J., 19 Dec. 2006. DRS Technologies Inc. has received a $46 million order to repair more than 200 U.S. Army M1000 Heavy Equipment Transporter (HET) trailers. The order is part of a five-year Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) reset contract that was awarded to DRS in October 2004 by the U.S. Army's Tank-Automotive and Armaments Command (TACOM) in Warren, Mich.

The McDonnell Douglas Corp. subsidiary of the Boeing Co. in Long Beach, Calif., won a $2 billion U.S. Air Force contract Dec. 18 for 10 Block 18 C-17 Globemaster III cargo jets with upgraded software for station keeping in formation flying.
SeaMobile announces acquisition of European satellite provider Geolink SEATTLE and PARIS, 18 Dec. 2006. SeaMobile Inc., a global provider of at-sea communications, connectivity, and content services has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Geolink, a provider of satellite-based broadband communications and networking services with experience serving the European market. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
