Meggitt to acquire Firearms Training Systems ATLANTA, 29 August 2006. Firearms Training Systems Inc. has entered into a definitive merger agreement with Meggitt-USA Inc., the U.S. subsidiary of Meggitt PLC. The merger agreement has been approved by the boards of directors of FATS, Meggitt-USA Inc., and Meggitt PLC.
Boeing selects Aonix ObjectAda for Tomahawk cruise missile mission planning software SAN DIEGO, Calif., 29 August 2006. Aonix, a provider of solutions for safety- and mission-critical applications, announced that Boeing has chosen and licensed ObjectAda for Windows. Boeing plans to use Aonix's ObjectAda for Windows for ongoing software development and for migration tasks on the Tomahawk Mission Planning (TMP) Software Platform. Boeing's interest in Aonix's ObjectAda for Windows hinges on several factors, including its compatibility with Microsoft's .NET platform.
Agilent Technologies completes acquisition of Xpedion Design Systems PALO ALTO, Calif., 29 August 2006. Agilent Technologies Inc. has completed the acquisition of Xpedion Design Systems, a privately held company that provides software for wireless and high-speed digital circuit and systems design in the communications industry. Financial details were not disclosed.
BAE Systems awarded Department of Homeland Security EAGLE contract HERNDON, Va., 28 August 2006. BAE Systems has been awarded a prime contract for the Department of Homeland Security's (DHS) Enterprise Acquisition Gateway for Leading Edge solutions (EAGLE) program. The company will support DHS efforts to improve efficiency and reduce costs of information technology systems and services in two functional categories -- software development (category 4) and management support services (category 5).
ASC MSRC adopts Force10 Networks' secure network solution SAN JOSE, Calif., 28 August 2006. Force10 Networks, provider of secure networks, has announced that the Aeronautical Systems Center Major Shared Resource Center (ASC MSRC) at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, has deployed the TeraScale E-Series family of switch/routers in a 10 Gigabit Ethernet network upgrade.

US State Department selects ioimage solution for homeland security application Hackensack, N.J., 25 August 2006. Ioimage U.S. (www.ioimage.com), producer of intelligent video appliances designed for simplicity in installation and operation, announced that the U.S. State Department has deployed ioimage's video surveillance system at a compound in Kabul, Afghanistan, to protect the facility from security breaches.
Rapiscan Systems gains $5 million contract for inspection solutions HAWTHORNE, Calif., 25 August 2006. OSI Systems Inc.'s security division, Rapiscan Systems, has received an order for approximately $5 million from an undisclosed international customer for multiple hybrid cargo and vehicle inspection systems. The company expects to deliver the systems, which utilize both X-ray and neutron based technologies, within fiscal 2007.
American Technology Corporation awarded Project Sheriff LRAD contract SAN DIEGO, 25 August 2006. American Technology Corporation (ATC), a maker of commercial, government, and military directed sound products and solutions, has received a $245,000 contract from the Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD). ATC will incorporate its Long Range Acoustic Device (LRAD) into the U.S. Army's Stryker ICV FSEP Program.
Rakon Limited debuts miniature TCXO Chicago, 24 August 2004. Rakon has introduced a temperature-compensated crystal oscillator (TCXO) in a 5 mm x 3.2 mm package. The IT5300D employs an analog IC for temperature compensation providing plus or minus 0.16ppm temperature stability and is available within an operating temperature range from -20 to 70 degrees Celsius.
