Belkin launches secure USB KVM switch for military, government installations COMPTON, Calif., 15 August 2006. Belkin designed its new OmniView secure KVM switch to ensure classified and unclassified computers are kept separate and secure at all times, and to prevent data transfer among them. The solution enables government users to control multiple USB computers from a single USB console, while ensuring the integrity of their data.
BAE Systems' JetEye enters third phase of DHS program NASHUA, N.H., 15 August 2006. BAE Systems executives have announced that the company's JetEye system has entered Phase III of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's (DHS) program to protect commercial airliners against infrared guided-missile threats.
FATS to upgrade Army National Guard combat training systems SUWANEE, Ga., 14 August 2006. FATS Inc. has been awarded a $4.9 million contract for ongoing upgrades to the Army National Guard's fielded Combat Arms Training Systems.
TraceGuard and OSI Systems' Rapiscan partner to develop explosive detection system NEW YORK CITY and PETACHTIVKA, Israel, 14 August 2006. TraceGuard Technologies Inc., a developer of security technologies and solutions, has entered into a 12-month joint development program with Rapiscan Systems, a subsidiary of OSI Systems. The two companies are teaming to develop TraceScan, a combined bulk/trace detection system for interdiction of explosive devices and weapons. TraceScan will be marketed exclusively by Rapiscan primarily to the U.S. government.
MDI and RAE enter agreement to bundle security solutions SAN ANTONIO, 14 August 2006. MDI Inc., a manufacturer of Unified Technology solutions for the security industry, and RAE Systems, a global provider of rapidly deployable sensor networks that enable customers to identify safety and security threats, have entered into a business partnership agreement.
ABI Research adjusts original RFID software and services market forecast, reducing revenue expectations OYSTER BAY, N.Y., 11 August 2006. ABI Research has reduced its 2007 market forecast for RFID software and services revenue to $3.1 billion, which represents a downward adjustment of approximately 15 percent from the firm's previous estimates.
American Technology and Moog jointly develop ruggedized remotely operated LRAD system SAN DIEGO, 11 August 2006. American Technology Corporation, known for its proprietary directed acoustic and innovations expertise in military and commercial directed sound products and solutions, and Moog Inc., with expertise in the design, development, and production of motion control systems and motion simulators, have jointly developed a ruggedized remotely controlled directed, focused acoustic energy system for use in remotely operated commercial and military security applications.
U.S. Department of Defense places $10 million order for Viisage's HIIDE BILLERICA, Mass., 11 August 2006. The SecuriMetrics division of Viisage Technology Inc. announced that the Department of Defense (DOD) placed an order for the Handheld Interagency Identity Detection Equipment (HIIDE) device that utilizes multi-modal identity enrollment and recognition technology. Valued in excess of $10 million, this new order from the DOD represents a step forward in the adoption of multi-modal biometric recognition technologies that include iris, face, and finger.
EJL Wireless Research reports significant growth in point-to-point radio market REDWOOD CITY, Calif., 10 August 2006. The global point to point (PTP) radio market grew by 49.1 percent in unit numbers throughout 2005. This figure represents an increase from the 46.2-percent growth recorded in 2004. These findings are presented in the latest report from EJL Wireless Research, titled "Global Digital PTP Radio Market Analysis and Forecast, 2005-2010."
L-3 Communications' Titan Group wins $26 million contract modification to Integrated Broadcast Service contract NEW YORK CITY, 10 August 2006. L-3 Communications has announced that the Intelligence Solutions division of its Titan Group (L-3 Titan Group) has been awarded a contract modification valued in excess of $26 million to the Integrated Broadcast Service (IBS) contract. The original $53.6 million IBS contract was awarded by the IBS Program Office headquartered at the Electronic Systems Center, Hanscom Air Force Base, Mass. This new modification brings the overall contract to $128 million.
