L-3 Communications' CyTerra to provide hand-held mine detectors to U.S. Army as part of $300 million multi-year contract NEW YORK CITY, 10 August 2006. L-3 Communications' CyTerra (L-3 CyTerra) subsidiary has been awarded an AN/PSS-14 Mine Detecting Set Full Rate Production contract from the U.S. Army Communications-Electronics Life Cycle Management Command Acquisition Center in Washington. L-3 CyTerra will deliver up to 17,000 AN/PSS-14 Mine Detecting Sets, as well as Sweep Monitoring Systems for training, Training Target Sets, and worldwide training and support over a 10-year period.
National Instruments unveils integrated PXI chassis and controller AUSTIN, Texas, 9 August 2006. National Instruments (NI) has unveiled its PXI-1033 chassis with an integrated MXI-Express remote controller. The NI PXI-1033 chassis takes advantage of commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) technology to reduce the cost required to start a PXI system. The chassis integrates PCI Express technology to offer high value and reduces costs by incorporating the MXI-Express controller in the chassis.
Parsons and SRS Technologies contribute to U.S. Department of Homeland Security border detection systems PASADENA, Calif., 9 August 2006. Parsons and SRS Technologies will work closely with three manufacturers that were recently awarded $1.157 billion in contracts by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Domestic Nuclear Detection Office (DNDO) to begin production of detection systems for its Advanced Spectroscopic Portal (ASP) program. Parsons and SRS will develop a testing program to reliably detect nuclear materials.
Formation's ToughDisk integrated with Viperfish ASX solution used by U.S. Air Force MOORESTOWN, N.J, 9 August 2006. Formation Inc.'s ToughDisk 3500 rugged hard disks have been integrated by Deep Development Corporation (DDC), a division of Gatekeeper Systems Inc., into Viperfish ASX high-resolution digital video recorders for use in U.S. Air Force AC-130H/U gunships.
JMAR awarded $3.1 million for x-ray mask and nanolithography program SAN DIEGO, Calif., 8 August 2006. JMAR Technologies Inc. has received a $3.1 million award by Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR). This is the latest increment to be added to JMAR's current contract, valued at $17.5 million, to continue development of sub-100nm feature x-ray masks and next-generation nanolithography.
BAE Systems software to aid in 3D airport mapping project SAN DIEGO, Calif., 8 August 2006. GeoEye, a commercial remote sensing imaging company, has selected BAE Systems' SOCET SET and ClearFlite software for a project that will create three-dimensional maps for hundreds of airports worldwide. Pilots and air traffic controllers will be able to use the new maps to guide aircraft into and out of airports.
Teledyne enters agreement to acquire CollaborX Inc. LOS ANGELES, 8 August 2006. Teledyne Technologies Incorporated has announced that its subsidiary, Teledyne Brown Engineering Inc., has entered into an agreement to acquire CollaborX Inc., based in Colorado Springs, Colo., for $17.5 million.
NASA's Johnson Space Center orders X-Change RFID system DALLAS, 7 August 2006. X-Change Corporation's wholly owned subsidiary, AirGATE Technologies Inc., has received from NASA's Johnson Space Center an order for the company's surface acoustic wave (SAW) development system. The system will be used for an undisclosed application.
National Technical Systems acquires Dynamic Labs CALABASAS, Calif., 7 August 2006. National Technical Systems Inc. (NTS), a provider of engineering services, has acquired Dynamic Labs, an EMI and Environmental Testing Laboratory with locations in Phoenix, Ariz., and Austin, Texas.
Space Micro Proton200k computer selected for Air Force ANGELS nanosatellite program SAN DIEGO, Calif., 7 August 2006. Space Micro has announced that its Proton200k Computer is part of the solution that has been selected by the Air Force Research Laboratory's (AFRL) Space Vehicles Directorate, located at Kirtland Air Force Base, N.M., for engineering design and development support for the Autonomous Nanosatellite Guardian Evaluating Local Space (ANGELS) satellite program.
