RAE System expands video surveillance, sensor capabilities with Aegison acquisition SAN JOSE, Calif., 13 July 2006. RAE Systems Inc., a global developer and manufacturer of rapidly deployable, multi-sensor chemical and radiation detection monitors and networks for homeland security and industrial applications, has purchased the assets, including two pending patents, of Santa Clara, Calif.-based Aegison Corporation, a supplier of fixed and mobile digital video surveillance systems, for $2 million in cash.
FuelCell Energy demonstrates safe dual-fuel power plant operation DANBURY, Conn., 12 July 2006. FuelCell Energy Inc., a manufacturer of ultra-clean electric power generation plants for commercial, industrial, and government customers, has successfully demonstrated its stationary power plants' ability to switch rapidly between fuels. The demonstration validated the systems' capacity to guard against fuel supply interruptions from natural disasters or security issues at mission-critical facilities.
Ioimage launches U.S. operations Hackensack, N.J., 12 July 2006. Ioimage Ltd. has announced the opening of its U.S. headquarters, expanding its presence in the North American security market. Ioimage offers a range of intelligent video encoders that convert analog cameras into smart IP surveillance cameras. The cameras automatically detect and autonomously track intruders, vehicles, unattended objects, and removed items, and send visual and audible alerts to security personnel.

WorldWater & Power to acquire Entech PENNINGTON, N.J., 11 July 2006. WorldWater & Power Corporation, developer and marketer of proprietary high-power solar solutions, has entered into a Letter of Intent (LOI) with Entech Inc. of Keller, Texas, to acquire the company upon completion of the necessary due diligence and after obtaining appropriate financing.
U.S. Air Force awards Telephonics Corporation a $6 million contract for its AN/UPX-40 ALL mode IFF interrogator FARMINGDALE, N.Y., 11 July 2006. Telephonics Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Griffon Corporation, has received a contract award valued at more than $6 million from the U.S. Air Force's Electronics Systems Center at Hanscom Air Force Base, Mass. According to the agreement, Telephonics will provide the AN/UPX-40 Mark XIIA/Mode S Identification Friend or Foe (IFF) common module interrogator.
Ultralife Batteries completes acquisition of McDowell Research NEWARK, N.Y., 11 July 2006. Ultralife Batteries Inc. has completed the acquisition of McDowell Research, a manufacturer of military communications accessories located in Waco, Texas. In conjunction with the closing of the acquisition, Mr. Tom Hauke has been named a corporate officer of Ultralife Batteries and will retain his title as president of McDowell Research.
Millennium Cell award U.S. Army contract to develop modular power system with ReliOn Eatontown, N.J., 10 July 2006. Millennium Cell Inc., a developer of hydrogen battery technology, has been awarded a $730,000 Phase II Small Business Innovation Research Program (SBIR) contract by the U.S. Army Tank-automotive and Armaments Command (TACOM). Under this two-year program, the company and its subcontractor ReliOn, a Spokane, Wash.-based fuel cell manufacturer, will develop a modular 500-watt power system with the ability to use available field water with impurities.
International Wire Group exits insulated wire business, concentrates on conductors CAMDEN, N.Y., 10 July 2006. International Wire Group Inc. has sold its insulated wire subsidiaries in the Philippines and Mexico to Draka Holding N.V. and Draka Mexico Holding, S.A. de C.V. (Draka). These transactions, together with the sale of certain U.S. insulated wire assets to Copperfield LLC in November 2005, complete IWG's exit from the insulated wire business.
U.S. Army orders 80 CMWS systems from BAE Systems NASHUA, N.H., 10 July 2006. The U.S. Army has awarded BAE Systems a sole-source award for its Common Missile Warning System (CMWS) to protect Army fixed- and rotary-wing aircraft from heat-seeking missiles. BAE Systems has received a five-year indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) award with a maximum ceiling of $1.4 billion. The Army ordered 80 CMWS systems for $23.2 million under the IDIQ.
