Icuiti selects eMagin OLEDs for its Tac-Eye solution for battlefield environments BELLEVUE, Wash., 3 July 2006. eMagin Corporation, maker of personal display systems and OLED microdisplay technology, will initially provide one thousand microdisplays to Icuiti for production of its Tac-Eye display system. The agreement calls for an initial delivery of one thousand units with additional units to follow.
SuperCritical Thermal Systems is completing its Advanced Space Oxygen System for NASA ESCONDIDO, Calif., 3 July 2006. Asgard Holdings Inc.'s affiliate SuperCritical Thermal Systems (STS) of Mead, Colo., is in the final stages of completing the ASOS project for Hamilton Sundstrand Space Systems of Windsor Locks, Conn. The ASOS unit is expected to be shipped within the next day or two.
U.S. Air Force entertaining proposals for KC-135 maintenance contract BIRMINGHAM, Ala., 30 June 2006. Pemco Aviation Group has received notice from the United States Air Force that it will amend the Request for Proposal for the performance of Programmed Depot Maintenance on KC-135 aircraft starting in FY08 to provide additional time for current and new bidders to respond to the solicitation.
Identix receives $3.3 million in new orders to upgrade, expand fingerprint scan networks MINNETONKA, Minn., 30 June 2006. Identix Incorporated has received new purchase orders with a total value of approximately $3.3 million for the delivery of Identix TouchPrint Enhanced Definition ten-print and full-hand live scan systems. The orders are from federal agencies and state and local law enforcement agencies that are upgrading and expanding existing live scan networks.
FreeLinc and Peltor partner to provide wireless headsets for military two-way radios SALT LAKE CITY, 30 June 2006. FreeLinc and Peltor Communications are joining forces to develop wireless headsets for military communication systems. The new products will combine FreeLinc's unique Near-field Magnetic Communications (NFMC) technology with Peltor's under-the-helmet dual-ear designs -- offering military personnel the freedom of wireless operation without sacrificing reliable, secure communications.
RAE Systems unveils GammaRAE II radiation detector and dosimeter SAN JOSE, Calif., 29 June 2006. RAE Systems Inc., a developer and manufacturer of rapidly deployable, multi-sensor chemical and radiation detection monitors and networks for homeland security and industrial applications, has introduced the GammaRAE II Responder. Its Cesium Iodide sensor detects gamma radiation and alerts first responders to the presence of radioactive material. Its energy-compensated PIN diode, provides high dose rate range coverage and accurate dosimetry measurements.
Smiths Detection receives $9.5 million DOD contract for ICAM units EDGEWOOD, Md., 29 June 2006. The Military unit of Smiths Detection, a provider of chemical, biological, and explosives detectors, and X-ray security screening equipment, has been awarded a delivery order for more than 2000 Improved Chemical Agent Monitor (ICAM) units. The contract from the US Department of Defense is valued at $9.5 million.
L-3 Communications SPAR Aerospace to upgrade five Royal Norwegian Air Force C-130s NEW YORK CITY, 29 June 2006. L-3 Communications' SPAR Aerospace Limited (L-3 SPAR) subsidiary has signed a $41.3 million contract for the maintenance and upgrade of five C-130 Hercules transport aircraft for the Royal Norwegian Air Force (RNoAF).
Themis Computer's Slice technology selected for submarine software-defined radio system FREMONT, Calif., 28 June 2006. Themis Computer has announced an agreement with MEDAV GmbH, a provider of products for signal analysis, automatic detection, and classification, demodulation, and decoding. Themis will provide its Slice technology for integration into a sub communication intelligence system. Themis' Slice subrack will be integrated into 19-inch bays, with other MEDAV equipment, for this submarine application.
Owlstone Nanotech awarded SBIR grant from U.S. Air Force NEW YORK CITY, 28 June 2006. The United States Department of Defense (DOD), through the Air Force, has granted Owlstone Nanotech Inc. a $99,793 Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Phase I award for the development of an advanced contaminant detection system for monitoring the air inside aircraft cockpits. Owlstone, a provider of nanotechnology-based chemical detection products, is developing and testing chemical detection sensors for several civilian applications.
