SeaMobile acquires Maritime Telecommunications Network
SEATTLE and MIRAMAR, Fla., 15 May 2006. SeaMobile Inc., a provider of at-sea wireless voice, data and Internet communications services, has acquired Maritime Telecommunications Network Inc. (MTN), a provider of satellite-based broadband communications and networking services for the maritime industry. The acquisition has been approved by the Federal Communications Commission.

Orbital contracted to define hybrid launch vehicle architectures
DULLES, Va., 15 May 2006. Orbital Sciences Corporation has been awarded a research and development contract by the U.S. Air Force for the Hybrid Launch Vehicle (HLV) Studies and Analysis Program. Under the contract, Orbital will develop responsive space launch designs that combine a reusable first stage with various types of expendable upper stages.

Ducommun Inc. acquires WiseWave Technologies
LOS ANGELES, 12 May 2006. Ducommun Incorporated's Ducommun Technologies Inc. (DTI) subsidiary has acquired WiseWave Technologies Inc., a privately held company based in Torrance, Calif. WiseWave manufactures custom microwave and millimeterwave products for both aerospace and non-aerospace applications. WiseWave's sales for the last 12 months totaled approximately $4.4 million.

EDO supplies self-defense electronics to U.S. Air Force
NEW YORK CITY, 12 May 2006. The U.S. Air Force has awarded EDO Corporation a $13.2 million contract from for the purchase of Advanced Capability Pods (ACaP). According to the contract, EDO will provide spares, support equipment, training, and documentation. Deliveries are scheduled to occur through the middle of 2007.

Sense Holdings, Interrelated Technologies partner to develop MEMS-based security systems
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., 12 May 2006. Sense Holdings Inc., a developer of biometric and explosive detection security technologies for government and commercial security markets, has executed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Interrelated Technologies Inc. (ITI) of Charleston, S.C., to develop advanced homeland security solutions and products.

Harris to provide Sierra II encryption for U.S. Army's situational awareness program
ROCHESTER, N.Y., 11 May 2006. The Harris Corp. RF Communications division in Rochester, N.Y., won a contract from Northrop Grumman Corp. to provide its Sierra II Type 1 encryption solution for the U.S. Army's Force XXI Battle Command Brigade and Below-Blue Force Tracking (FBCB2-BFT) Type 1 COMSEC Upgrade Program.

Northrop Grumman to build stratospheric surveillance airship
ROME, N.Y., 11 May 2006. U.S. Department of Defense researchers are looking to Northrop Grumman Corp. Space and Missiles Group in Redondo Beach, Calif., to design and build a surveillance airship with a structure that integrates several sensor systems.

AugustaWestland chooses Engenuity VAPS tool for cockpit displays
MONTREAL, 11 May 2006. Engenuity Technologies Inc. in Montreal announced that AgustaWestland, a Finmeccanica company, has approved Engenuity Technologies as an airborne software supplier and selected VAPS XT 661 for development of the AugustaWestland ARINC 661 cockpit displays.

AeroAstro completes bus integration on the STPSat-1 satellite
ASHBURN, Va., 10 May 2006. AeroAstro Inc., a provider of small satellites and related technology , has completed bus integration on the STPSat-1 satellite, a low-earth-orbiting satellite to be launched this year. The space vehicle, being developed under contract with the DoD Space Test Program (STP) at Kirtland AFB, will be the first DoD STP mission designed to fly space experiments on the Evolved Expendable Launch Vehicle (EELV) Secondary Payload Adapter (ESPA).

DataPath places Comtech satellite equipment order in support of U.S. government program
TEMPE, Ariz., 10 May 2006. DataPath, a global telecommunications systems integrator, has issued to Comtech EF Data Corporation a $1.7 million order for satellite communications equipment. The devices will be used in support of a major U.S. government program.
