Navy taps SAIC to design wideband communications systems SAN DIEGO, 9 May 2006. Engineers at Science Applications International Corp. (SAIC) in San Diego won a $51.8 million U.S. Navy contract May 8 to design and demonstrate wideband communication system (WCS) prototypes for a variety of military and other government platforms.
Air Force looks to Mercury for Continuous Look Attack Management for Predator (CLAMP) program CHELMSFORD, Mass., 9 May 2006. Mercury Computer Systems Inc. in Chelmsford, Mass., won a contract from the U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, to provide computer hardware and services for the Continuous Look Attack Management for Predator (CLAMP) Program.
Northrop Grumman receives FAA contract to upgrade nation's air traffic control radars BALTIMORE, 9 May 2006. Northrop Grumman Corp. Electronic Systems Sector in Baltimore won a contract from the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to modify transmitters on 135 ASR-9 air traffic control radars to enhance performance and operational availability, while reducing operation and maintenance costs.
Raytheon to produce advanced SM-2 missiles with IR seekers TUCSON, Ariz., 8 May 2006. Raytheon Company has received a $142 million contract for the domestic production of Standard Missile-2 (SM-2) for the U.S. Navy. According to the agreement, Raytheon will deliver 75 Block IIIB missiles, 80 Block IIIB conversion kits, telemeters, spare parts, and rocket motors, as well as provide missile maintenance support. Work on the contract will be performed at Raytheon's Missile Systems business in Tucson, Ariz., and Camden, Ark.
ITT to upgrade NAVSEA radar system according to $8.1 million contract WHITE PLAINS, N.Y., 8 May 2006. The Naval Sea (NAVSEA) Systems Command has awarded ITT Industries Inc. with a four-year contract to develop a modernized AN/SPS-48 system. The radar system provides 3D long-range air surveillance for both fixed/ground-based and shipboard applications.
SPAWAR awards General Dynamics $8.5 million contract for USVs WESTMINSTER, Md., 8 May 2006. The U.S. Navy Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center (SPAWAR), of San Diego, Calif., has awarded General Dynamics Robotic Systems an $8.5 million contract for two Unmanned Surface Vehicles (USVs) for the Littoral Combat Ship Anti-Submarine Warfare Mission Module. The total value of the contract, if all options are exercised, is $11.3 million.
L-3 Communications contracts Palomar Products for Korean Navy P-3 program RANCHO SANTA MARGARITA, Calif., 5 May 2006. L-3 Communications Integrated Systems has awarded a contract to Palomar Products, a subsidiary of Esterline Technologies, to provide the Secure Intercommunications Systems for the Republic of Korea Navy P-3 aircraft fleet.
U.S. Air Force selects Shavlik technology to secure network ST. PAUL, Minn., 5 May 2006. A global provider of enterprise security software solutions, Shavlik Technologies LLC announced its patch scanning technology will be used by the U.S. Air Force as part of the service's global client device and software management program. Shavlik is included in the solution because its technology partner Symantec's LiveState Client Management was selected by the Air Force.
U.S. Navy selects BAE Systems to provide transmitter-antenna groups for EA-6B Prowler LANSDALE, Pa., 5 May 2006. The U.S. Navy has contracted BAE Systems to produce low-band transmitter-antenna groups for the Navy's EA-6B Prowler electronic countermeasures aircraft. Under the $24.3 million contract with the Naval Air Systems Command, the company will provide 13 transmitter-antenna groups, each consisting of a radar and communications jammer.
