Park Electrochemical establishes its composite materials business as Nelcote Inc. MELVILLE, N.Y., 1 May 2006. Park Electrochemical Corp. has changed the name of its advanced composite materials business from FiberCote Industries Inc. to Nelcote Inc. Park's composite materials product line will now be sold under the Nelcote trade name.
SRI International manages DARPA-funded project under GALE program MENLO PARK, Calif., 1 May 2006. SRI International, an independent nonprofit research and development organization, has announced an SRI-managed project called, Novel Information Gathering and Harvesting Techniques for Intelligence in Global Autonomous Language Environments (NIGHTINGALE). A five-year collaboration of 15 corporations and universities, the program is funded by DARPA under its GALE program.
Department of Defense contracts Optimus Corporation to develop AMM prototype Fort Collins, Colo., 1 May 2006. Optimus Corporation, provider of enterprise information management via Web services and on mobile media, has been awarded a Department of Defense contract to develop the prototype and proof of concept for Federal Logistic Information System Agile Mobile Media (FLIS AMM). Optimus will work for the Defense Logistics Information Systems (DLIS), a component of the Defense Logistic Agency (DLA).
TechAlt to provide engineering, installation, maintenance, and support of combat control and C4I systems at Air Force base SEATTLE, 28 April 2006. TechAlt Inc.'s operating subsidiary, TechAlt Securities Technologies Inc., has been selected as a subcontractor by a global defense contractor for the engineering, installation, maintenance, and technical support of various Combat Control and C4I (Command, Control, Communications, Computers and Intelligence) systems for the weapons ranges of Eglin Air Force base.
General Dynamics to offer capabilities integration services to U.S Air Force simulation and analysis facility DAYTON, Ohio, 28 April 2006. The U.S. Air Force has awarded General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems one of four indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contracts to provide capabilities integration services to its Aeronautical Systems Center Simulation and Analysis Facility. The contract, with a ceiling value of $50 million over three years, calls for software development, event planning and execution, analysis, and enterprise capabilities integration process support.
VistaScape Security Systems protect USACE dam facilities, assets ATLANTA, 28 April 2006. U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) has implemented VistaScape Security Systems' automated wide-area surveillance software to protect its dam facilities and assets along the Savannah River, near Clemson, S.C. USACE is using the technology to counteract potential threats to the facility, including terrorism, trespassing, theft, and vandalism. Remote Technologies of Savannah, Ga., is the project's security integrator.
Enigma partners with Oracle to streamline maintenance for aerospace and defense markets PHOENIX, 27 April 2006. Enigma Inc. is working with Oracle to integrate its Enigma 3C Platform with Oracle Complex MRO. This integration produces an out-of-the-box solution designed to reduce operating costs and increase productivity for maintenance and engineering operations. Specifically designed for servicing aerospace and defense equipment, the solution will help decrease maintenance turn times, increase asset availability, and improve regulatory compliance.
SI International part of USfalcon team awarded U.S. Army S3 contract RESTON, Va., 27 April 2006. SI International Inc., an information technology and network solutions (IT) company, is a member of the USfalcon Inc. team that has been awarded a U.S. Army Strategic Services Sourcing (S3) contract. The contract supports the U.S. Army Communications Electronics Life Cycle Management Command (CE LCMC) with engineering, logistics, and business operations services.
Technest Holdings gains U.S. Navy SBIR grant for hyperspectral project BOSTON, 27 April 2006. Technest Holdings Inc., a defense and homeland security company, has been awarded a Phase I Small Business Innovative Research(SBIR) grant by the U.S. Navy for the development of a real-time, omni-directional, zoom-capable hyperspectral recording and process imaging device: the Omni-Guard. It is the first SBIR grant awarded to Technest, and is based on technologies developed by the company's subsidiary, Genex Technologies Inc.
Isola Group completes acquisition of Polyclad Laminates for $91 million CHANDLER, Ariz., 26 April 2006. Isola Group, SARL -- a designer, developer, and manufacturer of base materials for the printed circuit board industry -- has completed its acquisition of Polyclad Laminates from Cookson Group plc. Purchased for a cash consideration of $91 million following approval by European Union antitrust authorities, Polyclad manufactures laminate and prepreg materials complementary to Isola Group.
