AeroVironment to develop Global Observer Stratospheric unmanned aircraft system
MONROVIA, Calif. -- AeroVironment Inc. (AV) won a contract from the United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) for the development and military utility assessment of its Global Observer unmanned aircraft system (UAS). The basic contract, which will be funded under a cost-plus fixed-fee arrangement, provides for the development and delivery of the initial Global Observer aircraft, and is valued at approximately $57 million.
Lockheed Martin awards $50 million contract to Cubic to design air combat training system for F-35 Lightning II
SAN DIEGO -- Cubic Defense Applications, the defense segment of Cubic Corp., won a $50.3 million development contract from Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Co. to design and integrate an embedded version of its latest-generation air combat training system for the F-35 Lightning II, also known as the Joint Strike Fighter (JSF).
