SpaceDev to develop thermal radiator technology for U.S. Air Force POWAY, Calif., 2 Nov. 2007. SpaceDev won a $100,000 firm fixed price contract for the development of a new radiator technology for satellite thermal control. The Phase 1 Small Business Innovative Research contract will be performed over a 12-month period during which SpaceDev will collaborate with the Space Dynamics Laboratory of Utah State University to build and test a validation prototype of a new light-weight, high-performance radiator technology for space applications.
Raytheon selects Mercury Computer Systems for HDR-RF Ground Modem Program CHELMSFORD, Mass., 1 Nov. 2007. Mercury Computer Systems Inc. was selected by Raytheon to provide the wideband modem subsystem platform as part of Raytheon's recent HDR-RF Ground Modem contract from the US Air Force. Raytheon worked with Mercury Computer Systems to leverage the benefits of COTS software radio processing and real waveform portability for elements of this defense communications application.
NCI wins $4.8 million USAF airborne secure communications task order RESTON, Va., 1 Nov. 2007. NCI Inc., a provider of information technology services and solutions to U.S. federal government agencies, won a task order to provide the Headquarters, 754th Electronic Systems Group Operations, Infrastructure Systems Division, Air Force Systems Networking (AFSN) Program Office, with systems and network information technology (IT) services.
Industry organizations gather to advance lithium mobile power SAN DIEGO., 31 Oct. 2007. More than 115 organizations from around the world participated in the 3rd Lithium Mobile Power conference held October 29 and 30 in San Diego. Included among those organizations were the U.S. Army Research Laboratory; Motorola Embedded Systems Research Lab; Mitsubishi Chemical Group; and General Dynamics C4 Systems.
Centurum Inc. wins $5 million task orders from U.S. Navy MCLEAN, Va., 31 Oct. 2007. Following Centurum Inc. win of $420 million ID/IQ multiple contract awards from the U.S. Navy SPAWAR Systems Center Charleston, the company has been awarded more than $5 million in competitively bid task orders for network-centric services.
Thales wins delivery orders under Consolidated, Interim, Single-channel, Handheld Radio contract CLARKSBURG, Md., 30 Oct. 2007. Thales Communications Inc. announces two awards for its AN/PRC-148 JTRS handheld radio by the Joint Program Executive Office Joint Tactical Radio System (JPEO JTRS) under the Consolidated, Interim, Single-channel, Handheld Radio (CISCHR) contract. These delivery orders will field nearly 40,000 AN/PRC-148 JTRS Enhanced MBITRs (JEMs), in addition to ancillaries, with an aggregate total contract value exceeding $128 million.
Maxim Integrated Products completes acquisition of Vitesse's storage product business SUNNYVALE, Calif., 30 Oct. 2007. Maxim Integrated Products Inc. has completed its purchase of the Storage Products Business of Vitesse Semiconductor Corp. located in Colorado Springs, Colo., for approximately $63 million in cash. An additional amount up to $12 million in cash will be payable by Maxim upon the achievement of certain commercial milestones through the end of Vitesse's 2008 fiscal year on September 30, 2008.

Martone Radio Technology (MRT) announced the field deployment of its latest line of geospatial and analytic data-generation software and associated hardware platforms to the U.S. Navy. Martone Radio Technology is a provider of geo-referenced wireless tools and innovative surveillance solutions for the collection and exploitation of intelligence data.
Software Defined Radio Forum members to vote on four documents DENVER, 29 October 2007. Management of the Software Defined Radio (SDR) Forum (www.sdrforum.org), a nonprofit international industry association supporting the advancement of reconfigurable wireless technology, have announced that four documents are slated for membership approval at the organization's general meeting on Nov. 9, immediately following the SDR '07 technical conference and product exposition being held Nov. 5 through 8 in Denver.
PrismTech work for JPEO JTRS contributes to industry guidelines for waveform portability BOSTON, 28 Oct. 2007. PrismTech, provider of high-performance middleware and development tools, has completed work for the Joint Program Executive Office (JPEO) for the Joint Tactical Radio System (JTRS) to help define waveform portability guidelines for the Department of Defense's JTRS program. The guidelines are designed to provide the industry with a clear strategy and procedure for implementing portable JTRS waveforms.
