Optim FreedomView LED fiberscope adopted by Department of Homeland Security
STURBRIDGE, Mass., 20 Sept. 2007. The Department of Homeland Security, Division of Customs and Border Protection, has purchased 78 units of the FreedomView 680, a hand-held, portable inspection device from Optim Inc., a manufacturer of endoscopic products. The FreedomView enables inspectors to look for contraband in cars and trucks and air cargo on the Canadian and Mexican borders, as the newly expanded U.S.-Mexico Drug War plan is nears completion.

RedShift Systems selects IMT to produce thermal imaging device
BURLINGTON, Mass., 20 Sept. 2007. RedShift Systems, a provider of next-generation thermal imaging solutions, has selected Innovative Micro Technology (IMT), a micro-electro-mechanical systems (MEMS) foundry, to produce the RedShift Thermal Light Valve (TLV).

Globecomm Systems to provide tracking telemetry, control infrastructure in Asia
HAUPPAUGE, N.Y., 20 Sept. 2007. Globecomm Systems Inc., a provider of satellite-based communications infrastructure solutions and services, has been awarded a $2.5 million contract to provide tracking telemetry and control (TT&C) infrastructure in Asia.

General Dynamics-Lockheed Martin team continue development of WIN-T program
TAUNTON, Mass., 19 Sept. 2007. The U.S. Army awarded the General Dynamics-Lockheed Martin Warfighter Information Network-Tactical (WIN-T) team contract modifications valued at up to $921 million to continue development of the WIN-T system and to accelerate delivery of WIN-T capabilities to the current modular force. WIN-T will be the Army's integrating battlefield communications network.

iRobot wins $19 million NAVSEA orders for bomb-disposal robots
BURLINGTON, Mass., 19 Sept. 2007. iRobot Corp. announced two Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) delivery orders totaling $19 million for 128 additional bomb-disposal robots to be shipped to U.S. forces overseas. These latest awards bring the total value of NAVSEA orders placed to date to $94 million. iRobot expects to deliver the additional iRobot PackBot Man Transportable Robotic System (MTRS) robots by mid-2008.

NovAtel Inc. acquires antenna developer Antcom Corp.
CALGARY, Alberta, 19 Sept. 2007. NovAtel Inc., a precise positioning technology company, has acquired privately-held Antcom Corp., located in Torrance, Calif. Antcom is a communication company that specializes in the design, development, and manufacturing of antenna and microwave products for military and commerical customers in the space, ground, and avionics telecommunications markets.

FLIR Systems receives $28.6 million order from United Arab Emirates
PORTLAND, Ore., 18 Sept. 2007. FLIR Systems Inc. has received a $28.6 million order from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for its Star SAFIRE III stabilized, multisensor systems. The units delivered under this order will be used for homeland security and high-value asset protection missions.

Sigma Space selects DapTechnology FireLink 1394b IP core for NASA project
NIJMEGEN, The Netherlands, 18 Sept. 2007. DapTechnology, a supplier of advanced IEEE 1394 technology solutions to the aerospace, defense, industrial, automotive, and consumer electronics markets, announced that Sigma Space Corporation of Lanham, Md., has selected the DapTechnology FireLink 1394b Link Layer Controller IP Core and is currently integrating the product as a key component of a NASA-funded R&D project.

American Systems, an employee-owned government IT solutions provider, announced that the Naval Air Warfare Center, Training Systems Division has awarded a $25 million indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (ID/IQ) contract to the Data Management Services Joint Venture (DMSJV), a partnership between American Systems and Data Management Services Inc.

Skyquest Aviation awarded airborne camera contract by Marshall Aerospace
Berkshire, U.K., 17 Sept. 2007. Skyquest Aviation has been awarded a design and supply contract for airborne camera and closed circuit television systems on the Royal Air Force's tanker variant TriStar aircraft. The contract was awarded by Marshall Aerospace of Cambridge, appointed by Lockheed Martin as the design authority for the U.K. RAF TriStar fleet.
