L-1 Identity Solutions receives $2.5 million in handheld iris-recognition device orders from U.S. military STAMFORD, Conn., 17 Sept. 2007. L-1 Identity Solutions Inc.'s wholly-owned subsidiary SecuriMetrics Inc. has received two orders from the U.S. military for its family of PIER portable iris recognition and enrollment devices. The orders have an aggregate value to L-1 of more than $2.5 million. One order is from the U.S. Army for PIER 2.3 and PIER-T devices. The second order was placed by the U.S. Navy Spawar Systems Center for PIER 2.3 and 2.4 devices to be used by the U.S. Marine Corps.
Cantronic gains $4 million in thermal imaging systems orders from customer in Spain VANCOUVER, B.C., 17 Sept. 2007. Cantronic Systems Inc. has received two orders from an undisclosed customer in Spain for its high-sensitivity thermal imaging camera systems. The total value of these orders is approximately $4 million dollars for a total of 50 sets of long range security surveillance cameras using cooled infrared detectors.
L-3 to provide EO/IR imaging turrets to French Gendarmerie NEW YORK, 16 Sept. 2007. L-3 Communications' WESCAM (L-3 WESCAM) subsidiary has been selected by Eurocopter Deutschland (ECD) to provide 12 MX-15i electro-optic/infrared (EO/IR) imaging sensors to the French Gendarmerie. System deliveries are scheduled to begin in December 2007, and will continue into 2009.
Ultralife Batteries to acquire Innovative Solutions Consulting Inc. for $3 Million NEWARK, N.Y., 15 Sept. 2007. Ultralife Batteries Inc. has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Innovative Solutions Consulting Inc. (ISC), an engineering and technical services company located in Hollywood, Md. ISC is an engineering and technical services firm specializing in the design, integration, and fielding of mobile, modular, and fixed-site communication and electronic systems.
FLIR Systems to acquire interest in Cedip Infrared Systems PORTLAND, Ore., 14 Sept. 2007. FLIR Systems Inc. has entered into an agreement to acquire a controlling interest in Cedip Infrared Systems, a provider of infrared cameras and stabilized gimbaled systems based in Croissy-Beaubourg, France.
OSI Geospatial to provide navigation software to U.S. Navy OTTAWA, Ontario, 14 Sept. 2007. OSI Geospatial Inc.'s U.S. Systems Operations won a contract to provide the U.S. Navy with ECPINS military navigation software. The software will be installed on small boats designed to support littoral operations.
Technest Holdings to sell EOIR subsidiary for up to $34 million BETHESDA, Md., 14 Sept. 2007. Technest Holdings Inc., a defense and homeland security company, has entered into a Stock Purchase Agreement with EOIR Holdings LLC, a Delaware limited liability company, pursuant to which Technest will sell EOIR Technologies Inc. to LLC.
TCS gains $25 million Department of Defense order for rapid response, associated communications systems ANNAPOLIS, Md., 13 Sept. 2007. TeleCommunication Systems Inc. (TCS), provider of mission-critical wireless communications, has been awarded a five-year, $25 million indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) contract to support the Department of Defense (DoD). Under the contract terms, TCS will deliver secure next-generation SwiftLink communications products and services to support DoD initiatives.
Telkonet connects Department of Defense personnel with secure communications solution GERMANTOWN, Md., 13 Sept. 2007. Telkonet Inc. has delivered its FIPS 140-2 validated, powerline networking solution to more than 200 Department of Defense (DoD) sites nationwide. The Telkonet iWire System was competitively selected for use within these locations to foster the rapid delivery of secure unclassified network connectivity to DoD personnel. An additional 600 locations have been scheduled for deployment now and through 2008.
Ionatron wins light filament sensor technology development contract TUCSON, Ariz., 13 Sept. 2007. Ionatron Inc. has received a Phase II Small Business Technology Transfer Research (STTR) Contract from the U.S. Army Research Office for continued development of Light Filament Sensor technology.
