NASA awards technology services contract option to SAIC
WASHINGTON, 30 Aug. 2007. NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Ala., will continue an existing contract with Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC), of San Diego, to provide information technology services to NASA.

Acquisition of Aeroflex Inc. completed
PLAINVIEW, N.Y., 30 Aug. 2007. The Veritas Capital Fund III, L.P., Golden Gate Private Equity, and Goldman, Sachs & Co. have completed the previously announced acquisition of Aeroflex.

Rome Research Corporation (RRC), a subsidiary of PAR Technology Corporation, has won a U.S. Navy contract to operate and maintain communications satellite systems for the Naval Satellite Operations Center (NAVSOC), Point Mugu, Calif. The contract, with all options, is valued at $33.0 million.

LineSider Technologies' WirePower secure network management technology has been selected by American Systems, a government IT solutions provider, for implementation in developmental early warning system.a Called Red Cell, the system is designed to rapidly provide risk alerts via sensor networks and the cellular communication infrastructure.

Army contracts BAE Systems to develop electronic warfare amplifier technology
MERRIMACK, N.H., 27 Aug. 2007. BAE Systems is developing a new high-power amplifier technology that can guard U.S. forces against radar-guided missile threats. Under an $8 million contract from the U.S. Army Communications-Electronics Command with funding from the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), BAE Systems will build a 160-watt solid-state, gallium nitride (GaN) power amplifier for communications, electronic warfare, and radar applications.

Xenonics wins $9.8 million contract for NightHunter II illumination systems
CARLSBAD, Calif., 27 Aug. 2007 Xenonics Holdings Inc., maker of advanced illumination and low-light viewing technologies, has been awarded an indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract valued at up to $9.8 million over five years from the Defense Supply Center Columbus for the company's NightHunter II high-intensity illumination devices. An initial $157,000 purchase order under this contract is expected this month.
