Royal Danish Air Force gains Lockheed Martin surveillance radars
SYRACUSE, N.Y., 22 Aug. 2007. The Defence Acquisition & Logistics Organization (DALO) of the Danish Ministry of Defence transferred ownership of two Lockheed Martin TPS-77 mobile, long-range surveillance radars to the Tactical Air Command of the Royal Danish Air Force. A ceremony on August 16 attended by representatives from the Danish government, the Royal Danish Air Force and Lockheed Martin was held at Karup Air Station, in Denmark, where the radars temporarily are deployed.

Identica's Vascular Biometrics Secures the Port of Halifax
HALIFAX, N.S., 22 Aug. 2007. Identica Canada Corp., a wholly owned subsidiary of U.S.-based Identica Holdings Corporation, maker of next-generation biometric identification and security solutions, has teamed with Unisys Canada to deploy a biometric credentialing and access control database system (CACDS) in the Port of Halifax utilizing Identica's hand vascular pattern recognition technology. Identica's Vascular Pattern Scanners and HID iCLASS smart cards strengthen security.

ROCKVILLE, Md., 21 Aug. 2007. BAE Systems has completed the sale of its Inertial Products business. The Inertial Products business supplies military and commercial customers with inertial sensors and measurement units for the control, navigation, and guidance of precision weapon systems, missiles, air and ground vehicles, and aerial targets, and provides digital terrain systems for aircraft.

Lockheed Martin acquires 3Dsolve Inc.
BETHESDA, Md., 20 Aug. 2007. Lockheed Martin Corporation has acquired 3Dsolve Inc., a privately held company that creates simulation-based learning solutions for government, military, and corporate applications. The company's software tools assist clients with collaborative training using interactive 3D graphics -- also called "serious games".

Rockwell Collins helmet-mounted display selected for AVCATT
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa, 20 Aug. 2007. The U.S. Army, through the Program Executive Office of Simulation Training and Instrumentation, has awarded Rockwell Collins a $23.8 million contract for the Aviation Combined Arms Tactical Trainer (AVCATT) Helmet Mounted Display (HMD) modification and upgrade program.

Lockheed Martin, Wipro Technologies open network-centric operations centre in India
GURGAON, India, 20 Aug. 2007. Lockheed Martin, a defense contractor and information technology provider, together with Indian information technology company, Wipro Technologies, a division of Wipro Limited, opened its Network Centric Operations Centre in Gurgaon, India. Known as Ambar Jyoti, this lab will develop, demonstrate, and experiment with emerging network-enabled capabilities and applications.

VSE provides support services to U.S. Army Rapid Response (R2) Support contract
ALEXANDRIA, Va., 19 Aug. 2007. VSE Corporation reported recent Rapid Response (R2) Support Contract task order awards of approximately $160.3 million for the year 2007. The task orders require program management, systems engineering, integrated logistics, and technical services in support of various U.S. Army and U.S. Navy activities at multiple locations. With these awards for 2007, VSE's R2 Support Contract reached a milestone of over $1 billion in task order awards.
