BAE Systems to develop seeker for Multiple Kill Vehicle program NASHUA, N.H., 24 July 2007. BAE Systems will develop and test a key component of the U.S. Missile Defense Agency's Multiple Kill Vehicle payload system. The company will produce, test, and integrate the system's carrier vehicle seeker for the captive carry testbed under a two-year, $6.3 million contract from Lockheed Martin Space Systems Co.
SANZ wins Department of Defense order for $760,000 in data access solutions ENGLEWOOD, Colo., 24 July 2007.SANZ Inc., a subsidiary of SAN Holdings Inc., a provider of data access solutions, has received an approximate $760,000 order for integrated data access solutions from a Department of Defense customer. SANZ will design, deploy, and implement an intelligent back-up solution by combining best-of-breed hardware and software into a scalable data-management platform.
Raytheon delivers short-range ballistic missile defense system to U.S. Navy TUCSON, Ariz., 23 July 2007. Raytheon Company has delivered the first near-term sea-based terminal weapon to the U.S. Navy for use in defending against short-range ballistic missile threats. Raytheon, the Navy, and Johns Hopkins University's Applied Physics Lab partnered to update the Standard Missile 2 Block IV weapon with unique modifications to provide this capability.
BAE Systems selects Advanced Knowledge Associates' system-on-module technology for Bradley fighting vehicles SANTA CLARA, Calif., 23 July 2007. Advanced Knowledge Associates (AKA), makers of miniaturized, reconfigurable, self-contained system-on-module (SOM) technology, won a major contract with BAE Systems worth $10.5 million for circuit card assemblies containing modules to be used in the remanufacture of Bradley fighting vehicles.
OSI Geospatial to provide navigation systems to the U.S. Coast Guard VANCOUVER, British Columbia, 23 July 2007. OSI Geospatial Inc.'s U.S. Systems Operations has signed a contract valued at approximately $1.3 million, including all options. This includes a fixed contract valued at approximately $900,000 to provide the U.S. Coast Guard with ECPINS navigation systems and an option valued at approximately $400,000 to provide a four-year extended warranty period. The systems will be installed on nine ice breaking tugs and one shore base facility.
Department of Homeland Security contracts Arcxis Biotechnologies to advance bio-threat analyzer PLEASANTON, Calif., 22 July 2007. Arcxis Biotechnologies won a Phase II award from the Department of Homeland Security to continue development of the BioPhalanx analyzer, a hand-portable instrument designed to rapidly detect bio-threats in the field. The $1 million award follows the completion of Phase I, where a novel tentacle probe assay was demonstrated.

BAE Systems' software links with Google Earth, ESRI geodatabase for military applications SAN DIEGO, 20 July 2007. A new version of BAE Systems' image analysis and mapping software enables analysts to evaluate and share intelligence data more effectively by integrating with Google Earth and the ESRI geodatabase. SOCET GXP v2.3 interacts with Google Earth in real time for quick, 3D color visualization and gives geospatial context to objects of interest, resulting in enhanced intelligence for mission planning.
L-3 Link Simulation and Training to deliver F/A-18E/F tactical flight trainers to Boeing NEW YORK, 20 July 2007. L-3 Communications' Link Simulation and Training (L-3 Link) division has been awarded a contract from the Boeing Company to provide two F/A-18E/F Tactical Operational Flight Trainers (TOFTs) and two instructor operator stations. Under this new contract option, during 2008 an additional F/A-18E/F TOFT will be delivered by L-3 to NAS Lemoore and NAS Oceana, respectively.
Thomson Scientific adds military specifications, standards to offering PHILADELPHIA, 20 July 2007. Thomson Scientific, part of The Thomson Corporation and provider of information solutions to the research and business communities, has added Military and Federal Specifications and Standards to Techstreet, a source for industry codes and standards for engineering and technical professionals.
