Thermal-management market projected to reach $5.9 billion by 2008
Norwood, Mass., 19 July 2007. According to Andrew McWilliams, an analyst at BCC Research, the world market for thermal management products will grow from about $4.4 billion in 2006 to $5.9 billion by 2008 and approach $6.7 billion by 2011. In response to the growing need for electronics thermal management solutions, Digi-Key and Advanced Thermal Solutions Inc. (ATS) announced a global distribution agreement.

ViaSat wins $44.9 million order from SPAWAR for MIDS terminal
CARLSBAD, Calif., 19 Jully 2007. ViaSat Inc. won a delivery order valued at $44.9 million from The Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR), San Diego, for multifunctional information distribution system terminals. By gathering information into a digital view of the battlefield, MIDS provides greater situational awareness in combat for the U.S. Navy, Air Force, Army, Marine Corps, and for U.S. defense partners.

Arotech's FAAC subsidiary gains $2.8 million order for Stryker common driver trainers

CERDEC contracts IdaTech to develop tactical fuel cell generator
BEND, Ore., 17 July 2007. CERDEC, the U.S. Army's Communications Electronics Research Development and Engineering Center, has awarded a second contract to IdaTech LLC, a fuel cell solutions developer and manufacturer, to further develop its three-kilowatt tactical fuel-cell generator using jet and diesel fuel. Following the successful first year, this $2.55 million award will focus on system integration, testing, and evaluation.

QPC ships BrightLase seed lasers to defense customer for directed energy weapons
