INFICON acquires Sigma Instruments, strengthens position in electro-optics market

INFICON, a manufacturer of instrumentation and process control software for the semiconductor and vacuum-coating industries and other industrial applications, has acquired Sigma Instruments Inc., a manufacturer of instrumentation for the measurement and control of thin film processes.

PacStar wins Army's IT services subcontract

PacStar, a technology-based systems integrator that provides communications solutions to military, government, and commercial customers, has won a subcontract from Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) to perform on the U.S. Army's Information Technology Enterprise Solutions 2 Services Contract (ITES-2S).

PlanetSpace, Lockheed Martin and ATK Team Up to Bid on NASA COTS
CHICAGO, 9 Dec. 2007. PlanetSpace has submitted a proposal response to NASA's recent Commercial Orbital Transportation Services (COTS) Phase 1 Demonstrations request for proposals. BAE Systems wins $36 million U.S. Navy contract for remote-control gun systems
MINNEAPOLIS, 7 Dec. 2007. BAE Systems won a $36.3 million contract from the U.S. Naval Surface Warfare Center for the production and delivery of 62 MK 38 MOD 2 Machine Gun Systems (MGS). The gun systems will be delivered between July 2008 and June 2009.

CVG wins $1.3 million Navy defense contract
CHANTILLY, Va., 7 Dec. 2007. CVG Inc. (CVG) has been awarded a $1.3 million, firm-fixed-price contract by Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR) to provide shipboard commercial satellite communications terminals for the Navy's Commercial Broadband Satellite Program (CBSP) Small Ship Variant (SSV). The contract was awarded on behalf of the Communications Program Office, which develops radios, terminals, and antennas, and integrates C4I communication systems for the Navy.

eMagin OLEDs enable Saab's rugged virtual image display
