U.S. Army awards General Dynamics $18 million for Command Post of the Future SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., 28 June 2007. The U.S. Army has awarded a contract to General Dynamics C4 Systems for contractor support and engineering services for the Command Post of the Future (CPOF). The initial delivery order is for $18.4 million on the indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (ID/IQ) contract, which has a potential value of $200 million over five years. General Dynamics C4 Systems is a business unit of General Dynamics.
Satellite Systems Corporation Launches Dominion Test Instruments VIRGINIA BEACH, Va., 28 June 2007. Satellite Systems Corporation, manufacturer of satellite beacon tracking receivers for antenna control or uplink power control, frequency converters, and other satcom products, has launched Dominion Test Instruments (DTi). Dominion Test Instruments will act as a subsidiary of Satellite Systems Corporation in order to enhance its joint Satcom product offerings.
KVH gains $1.1 million order for fiber-optic gyros for U.S. military simulators MIDDLETOWN, R.I., 27 June 2007. KVH Industries Inc., has received a $1.1 million order for its DSP-3000 fiber optic gyros (FOGs) from a U.S. military customer. KVH's compact FOGs will be used for real-time image synchronization and stabilization in military training simulator systems.
BAE Systems to upgrade laser for U.S. Army helicopters NASHUA, N.H., 27 June 2007. BAE Systems has won two U.S. Army contracts totaling $54 million to provide a multiband laser technology upgrade for the Advanced Threat Infrared Countermeasures/Common Missile Warning System (ATIRCM/CMWS) program. The multiband laser (MBL) replaces an existing infrared jam laser and flash lamp subsystem designed to protect helicopters by defeating infrared-seeking missiles.
Teledyne acquires Tindall Technologies THOUSAND OAKS, Calif., 27 June 2007. Teledyne Technologies Inc.'s subsidiary, Teledyne Cougar Inc., has completed the acquisition of Tindall Technologies Inc., a designer and supplier of microwave subsystems for defense applications. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
London defense show set for September 2007 LONDON, 26 June 2007. -- The Defence Systems & Equipment International (DSEi) exhibition and conference will be Sept. 11 to 14, 2007, at the ExCeL conference and exhibition center in London.
Micronetics receives order for military voltage-controlled oscillators to counter IEDs HUDSON, N.H., 26 June 2007. Micronetics Inc. has received initial production contracts from EDO Corporation totaling $930,000 for voltage-controlled oscillators (VCOs) used on the Spiral 2.1 Crew system. The delivery schedule to support EDO Crew 2.1 program is anticipated to be over a six-month period.
EDO to demonstrate unmanned surface technology as a U.K. mine countermeasure solution NEW YORK, 26 June 2007. EDO Corporation, as a member of a consortium led by Atlas Elektronik U.K., has been awarded a research contract by the U.K. Ministry of Defence. The contract calls for the consortium to demonstrate the use of an unmanned surface vehicle (USV) to combat "influence" mines. The Atlas-QED consortium will deliver a prototype by 2009 to the Royal Navy's Fast Agile Sweep Technology (FAST) program.
Coda Octopus Group to design electronic chassis for weapons system for Raytheon NEW YORK, 26 June 2007. Coda Octopus Group Inc., maker of underwater terrorism prevention solutions, won a $1,560,000 contract with Raytheon Missile Systems through its wholly owned subsidiary, Colmek Systems Engineering.
Phase Matrix to develop radio frequency/microwave down converter modules SAN JOSE, Calif., 25 June 2007. Phase Matrix Inc. of San Jose, Calif., has won a Phase II small business innovative research (SBIR) contract to develop a family of radio frequency (RF)/microwave (MW) down converter modules in a PXI (PCI Extension for Instrumentation) form factor from the Naval Air Warfare Center AD in Lakehurst, N.J.
