SpaceDev to develop deployable structures technology for AFRL, enhance SpaceDev satellite program POWAY, Calif., 25 June 2007. SpaceDev's subsidiary, Starsys Inc., has been awarded a $750,000 cost reimbursable design and development subcontract from the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) Space Vehicles Directorate, for continued development of deployable boom structures for satellites.
L-3 Integrated Systems to integrate new airframes, communications, telemetry technologies into U.S. Navy NP-3C aircraft LE BOURGET, France, 25 June 2007. L-3 Communications' Integrated Systems (L-3 IS) Group won a contract from the U.S. Navy to integrate new and existing technology into the next-generation NP-3C instrumented range support aircraft. The base contract is valued at more than $40 million while the options, if exercised, are valued at more than $35 million.
Cubic Corporation receives potential $468 million contract to supply mission support to U.S. Army Joint Readiness Training Center SAN DIEGO, Calif., 24 June 2007. Cubic Corporation will continue to provide realistic pre-deployment training to U.S. troops after winning a competitive contract with a potential ceiling value of $468 million. Cubic, the incumbent mission support contractor for the U.S. Army's Joint Readiness Training Center (JRTC) at Fort Polk, La., received a new contract for one base year with nine renewable option years. The new contract is scheduled to begin in July 2007.
Comtech Telecommunications Corp. receives $1.6 million order for satellite communications equipment MELVILLE, N.Y., 23 June 2007. Comtech Telecommunications Corp.'s Tempe, Arizona-based subsidiary, Comtech EF Data Corp., was awarded a $1.6 million order from a government agency for satellite communications equipment. The equipment will be deployed to upgrade and extend the agency's satellite-based network.
Boeing shifts to embedded software for 787 Dreamliner, selects Korry and Avista SEATTLE, 22 June 2007. Korry Electronics, a Tier 1 supplier for the Boeing 787 Dreamliner, and AVISTA Incorporated, provider of critical systems software engineering services, have delivered the flight deck control panels (FDCP) embedded software for the Boeing 787. A key goal for this new aircraft is reducing weight by replacing the traditional hardwired FDCP with embedded and hosted application software.
General Dynamics wins $18 million Command Post of the Future contract SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., 21 June 2007. General Dynamics C4 Systems in Scottsdale, Ariz., won an $18.4 million U.S. Army contract for engineering services to the Command Post of the Future (CPOF) -- part of the Army's Battle Command System (ABCS) that enables commanders and their staffs to jointly plan, prepare, rehearse, execute and assess operations over tactical networks from geographically dispersed locations.
Harris wins potential $2.7 billion contract for JTRS-approved Falcon III tactical radios ROCHESTER, N.Y., 21 June 2007. The Harris Corp. RF Communications division in Rochester, N.Y., won a contract worth as much as $2.7 billion to supply the U.S. Department of Defense with next-generation multiband Falcon III handheld tactical radio systems.
AdaCore's GNAT Pro chosen for U.K.'s next-generation air traffic control system NEW YORK, 21 June 2007.Praxis has selected GNAT Pro from AdaCore, provider of Ada tools and support services, for the U.K.'s next-generation Interim Future Area Control Tools Support (iFACTS) air traffic control system for its client NATS.
Siemens Enterprise Communications to deliver geographical information system to NATO BOCA RATON, Fla., 20 June 2007. Siemens Communications Inc.'s Siemens Enterprise Communications Belgium will provide NATO with a new geographical information system (GIS). The GIS solution will ensure that NATO will have the best available geospatial information, and can fuse geospatial content with other forms of information. A services-oriented architecture (SOA) will provide the technological capabilities for data fusion to create a common operating picture.
Lockheed Martin selects GoAhead Software for U.S. Navy's Aegis program CHICAGO, 19 June 2007. Lockheed Martin, with concurrence from its U.S. Navy customer, selected GoAhead SelfReliant as the high availability (HA) and systems management solution in the Aegis Weapons System Open Architecture program. GoAhead Software is a provider of open standards-based high availability and systems management middleware for carrier-grade and mission-critical systems.
