ISE Corp. and Altairnano to jointly develop rechargeable lithium titanate battery packs for military vehicles SAN DIEGO, Calif., 5 June 2007. ISE Corporation and Altair Nanotechnologies Inc. have entered an agreement to develop and supply lithium rechargeable battery packs for use in hybrid electric and all electric heavy-duty vehicles. The goal is to develop and commercially supply high-quality, cost-effective, lithium battery packs for military vehicles and airport ground support equipment, heavy duty buses, and trucks.

DRS Technologies demonstrates satellite communications-on-the-move capability during Naval exercise PARSIPPANY, N.J., 4 June 2007. DRS Codem Systems Inc., DRS Technologies Inc.'s business unit based in Merrimack, N.H., demonstrated its X-band satellite communications-on-the-move (COTM) capabilities with an XTAR LLC satellite during the U.S. Navy's annual exercise, Trident Warrior. The demonstration occurred aboard the Department of Defense Office of Force Transformation's experimental naval craft, the Stiletto, while moving at speeds exceeding 40 knots off the coast of Virginia.
OSI Geospatial wins U.S. Army contracts for training technology VANCOUVER, Canada, 4 June 2007. OSI Geospatial Inc.'s U.S. systems operations won contracts valued at $1.0 million by the U.S. Army. Under the terms of the contracts, the company will provide its training technology to meet U.S. Army program requirements.
U.K. Ministry of Defence selects Raytheon's MicroLight radio for U.K. Army's FIST program MARLBOROUGH, Mass., 4 June 2007. Raytheon Company's MicroLight radio has been selected by the Thales Prime Contracting Management Office, acting on behalf of the U.K. Ministry of Defence, as the core communications system for the operational effectiveness trials in the assessment phase of the U.K.'s Future Integrated Soldier Technology, or FIST, program.
Raytheon to deploy sensors for force protection WALTHAM, Mass., 3 June 2007. Raytheon Co. won a $10.1 million contract from the Army to provide towers arrayed with sensors to help protect U.S. and coalition forces in Afghanistan and Iraq.

National Technical Systems Inc.'s joint venture company, National Quality Assurance (NQA) has acquired TRA Certification, located in Elkhart, Ind. NQA is one of the world's largest ISO certification bodies, providing services for thousands of industry leaders, including those in the aerospace market.
Cyber Defense broadcasts first streaming video from unmanned aerial system ST. PETERSBURG, Fla., 1 June 2007. Cyber Defense Systems Inc. has announced the live alpha test flight of its remote-control UAV, the CyberBug. The test flight represented the first time live video feed was transmitted from an unmanned aerial vehicle to the Florida Emergency Operations Center in Tallahassee, Fla.
NSWC Crane produces new air defense system for Lithuania CRANE, Ind., 1 June 2007. Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Crane Division completed production of the vehicle tethered dual mounted stinger (VTDMS) this month that will help towards qualifying Lithuania for membership into the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO). The VTDMS systems, which provide air defense capability, are scheduled to arrive in-country late this summer.
Athena Technologies announces autonomous landing of F/A-18 UAV WARRENTON, Va., 1 June 2007. Athena Technologies Inc., a provider of flight control and navigation systems, announced the successful flight demonstration of damage-tolerant flight control and autonomous landing capabilities on a subscale F/A-18 UAV. The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) sponsored the demonstration at the Aberdeen Proving Grounds in Maryland.
